Will you go to church on Easter?

I, for one, am planning to go to church this Easter. This is an activity I hardly ever make the time for, but try never to miss on the major Christian holidays.

Anyway, I am eager to see what the rest of you are planning to do.

Going to church would waste valuable time that will be better spent pillaging and eating chocolate.

Of course. But it's not like I'm a stranger at my church so that's not unusual . . .

I'm quite doubtful, but it's possible that one of my friends might guilt me into it by the time Sunday rolls around. Aside from that, I'll celebrate the day with chocolate.

I'll probably go with my parents, just to avoid the argument that happened when it was time to go to church for Christmas...

I haven't been to church in quite a long time, and I am actually looking forward to Easter Sunday.

Now all I have to do is pick a denomination. Within walking distance of my house there are Baptist, Lutheran, Episcopalian, Presbyterian, Catholic and Church of Christ Scientist churches.

I have two criteria: A) the service should not be TOO long. Anything over an hour and 15 is pretty much out. I mean, just because it's EASTER is no reason to miss fishing. And B) It should be sort of "traditional." I like a few hymns, a sermon preached on scripture, maybe some communion. I DON'T like bands, television screens with the words on them, politically-motivated sermons and the services where people don't get dressed up.

I am COUNTING on the forum to help me select the best denomination. I realize that churches differ from congregation to congregation, but I am interested in your general input and advice.

    Anyway, best regards,
    Mith

I'll be going, but I go to church every Sunday anyways. I don't really want to go, but my parents make me. I don't see why people should go on holidays if they don't go any other day.

Never heard of him? Runs around wearing a white bedsheet and a brown one thrown across his shoulders, has a big beard, preaches and multiplies fish a lot? Save your soul? Walk on water? Not doing anything for ya? Guess you just don't recognize him as a superhero cuz he ain't flying or anything... :teeth:

I'm going to church, i like the group setting most of the time... (except when the group is a dozen little kids in just the 3 rows in front of you :cheesy:

My Catholic church seems to fit those criteria, Mith, we sing out of books, have a large organ, choir, uncomfy seats, etc. :) oh, and a 150 year old mini cathedral style church. I can't say the same for the new flatroof ones...
