    The SO

The girlfriend and soon to be fiancé has never seen me when I'm Entrenched in a game. I told her she better buy a copy of D3 because she won't be hearing from me for 3 weeks otherwise. What are you doing about your significant other for launch?

How do you plan on breaking the news that, something special has come into your life?

Wow dude, i dont think this is a good idea what you are doing. At this time (and few months back i just sticked with porn and casual girls ) but if you are in a long term relationship and say that to a girl... trust me it will backfire dude.

If i was in a serious relationship i guess i would have to find time for her, at least once in 3 days minimum.

My birthday is on May 10th and mine planned to take me on a holiday on the 16th-21st of May. Needless to say, I told her to rebook it for the week before.

    She wasn't happy...

Just dont beak up all communication. Maybe do something awesome for her in the first weeks after release to make her have positive feelings about the whole thing. Dont make her feel unimportant and alone or she will hate this game whenever she sees it, whenever you talk about it, whenever you play it, basically all the time.

If she is a gamer, then its simple: buy 2 copies and have the best time of your life.

    Re: The SO

Lol she's not a gamer so that's really off the table. To believe that any person in a relationship should compromise, change, or hide who they are to make their counter-part happy is to build a relationship upon a fallacy to begin with. If you can't be you, and they can't accept it, then it probably isn't a good fit for the two of you to be together anyway. She knows I've been waiting for this for years, even bought me a mini fridge to chill my monster for my marathon the first 3 days.

Having the conversation ahead of time worked for me, what do you plan on telling your other half? Have you and how did they respond?

A real man would drill a hole in the collectors edition skull and use that as their girlfriend.

My wife is so entrenched in her game right now, she's looking forward to Diablo III so I won't pull her out of her game.

    Re: The SO

i guess i am lucky cause my wife likes to game too. she is still playing wow all the damn time and will be joining me when D3 hits. she probably wont play diablo as much as i do though but she wont care about my time spent on it either. she has a few rules and if i follow them we are set. pretty easy rules, like, feed the kids, keep the house clean, you know basic stuff

    Re: The SO

I think the funniest thing I've pulled from these posts. Wives = gamers, girlfriends = not gamers (gotta lock up the good ones :p). My wife is a gamer too, and D3 is going to be awesome. We both took the 15th off work to get our first bit of D3 goodness in. We're going to the coast the weekend before that, so we can say goodbye to the outside, but post 15th we're both going to be hunkered down over our respective computers.

I'm taking off work on the 15th and 16th, and my wife has to work. So that will work out. However, I do have two small children, so just gotta get them setup each day with snacks/toys/tv/etc. to keep them busy, lol.

    Re: The SO

Guess I'm lucky enough to have a adorably geeky girlfriend, who accepts and understands that I'm evenmore geekier and will play this thing non stop.

Best case scenario: She'll like it and even join
Worst case scenario: She wont like me playing barbarian and will poke me into playing Wizzard :x

My wife and I are using gift cards left over from our wedding and have pre ordered two CEs. I was going to just get one CE, but she insisted on getting a second one because she wanted the damn wings and thought that having two Diablo USB drives would be awesome, which I totally agree.

    Man... getting married rocks
