    Spaceflight

No, this is not about Obama's proposed changes to the USA space program. More on that later after I've examined it fully.

I just wondered if people realized how many people we have working in space right now. It's only short term as the space shuttle is docked now. But here is a group picture.

Of course women being women had to go and do their own thing:

Silly gurls. I wonder if it's hard to keep their hair from getting all knotted.

    Larger image here.

Anyway, it's pretty impressive I think.

In this recent pic I like the curve of Earth as the two astronauts work.

    Large version.

LOL! Wow, that's a whole gaggle of people! :cloud9: Isn't that the most women in space at one time, or just together in space at the same time?

I'll admit, I just lost my **** looking at that last picture. I just never thought about it, but they really are just hanging there, in space. In space. If they come loose, that's it...

    Wow.

Look closely. They are tethered. The cannot just drift away. Still, the hazards are great.

NASA says there has been no sex in space. But really..............????

Who are those people btw? I want to know them:)

The last picture is pure eye candy, remarkably beautiful. Who needs art when the world is prettier.

Of course there's been sex in space! That would just be WAAAAYY too tempting... albeit difficult. :D

That last pic looks like something out of a movie! :)

Protip: If you happen to drift away in zero g, start peeing in the opposite direction you want to go. Or more likely open your waste tanks. Spit, throw your shoes, and if all else fails cut off your foot and throw that. Also try bleeding the right way.

Just something to keep in mind.

And yeah, space is cool. (Figuratively at least.)

    Re: Spaceflight

Are all those American astronauts, or are there invited ones from other countries in that picture as well?

Reason I ask is that the European Space Agency seems to bring up people from everywhere, not just Europe. And the Russians occasionally invite people as well. :)

    Re: Spaceflight

If you have a flash light, you can just shine in the opposite direction. the light beam should create an impulse too.

Guess Physics 2 was good for something after all.

P.S. On the other hand, just throwing you flash light away proved more efficient.

I enjoyed finding out that the astronauts performing the external repairs resorted to beating on the recalcitrant ammonia tank. Take that, robotics!

    Also, anyone hungry for anachronism?

    Re: Spaceflight

Agreed. I almost didn't include it but it was too tempting to pass up.

Because we all know how easy that would be!

    Or not.

I'll be impressed when someone does Buffalo Wings!

USA, Russian, and Japanese I think. Many countries have had people on the ISS. Even Canada!

Yeah, I know, but still... One little cord is all that is holding you above the Earth. Above the Earth.

After 7 years in space and a date with an asteroid, she's coming home!

    Watch out Aussie's!

One question that emerged hasnt found enough attention imo.
Has there really been no sex in space?

That one looks like Hillary. Not sure about the blond.

I have no data either way about if there has been sex in space. I would certainly not be surprised if there has been.

Meanwhile, things are busy around Saturn:

    Re: Spaceflight

So any results from Titan yet? It seems fairly likely there would be a magnetic field, since I'm sure Saturn keeps Titans core liquefied.

Nurman: Damn! That pic would be pretty hot if it wasn't ruined by the blond's head!!
