    Regarding Hardcore..

Well, i've been getting bored with softcore and i am in the mood for some adrenalyn rushes. (Yes, i know..)

In hardcore, is there chaos games to level if i find a bug rush? uber games? What's the best way to lvl?

How hard is it to come across items and get started? Is there any forums that allow trading of softcore items for hc items? Or is anyone interested in trading(We can talk on aim or msn or something.. just post and we'll get in touch)..

How hard is it to find a bug rush, if there is such a thing..
How would you guys suggest leveling?

Maybe this is a stupid question, but if all you do is get grushed, power leveled, and then buy all kinds of nice items with your leftover softcore wares, what exactly is the point of coming over to Hardcore?

Stupid questions aside, if that is in fact what you end up doing, I don't see a very long and prosperous life for many of your toons as the best way to learn your characters' capabilities and limitations is to play them through the game, or at least most/part of it.

Rushes, chaos games, and ubers games are a good way to get yourself PKed. Unless you have a bunch of friends with godly gear, you're S.O.L. here.

There's a site that has its own form of D2 currency. I can't link to it here, but I'm sure if you ask around on bnet someone will point you in the right direction.

I give him a week. By then he will have traded most of his SC stuff for HC stuff, lost it all to TPPK and gone crying back to SC.

I've found that the best way to get gear (and assure your long term survival in HC) is to make a new character and take it out the gates of the Rogue camp. You'll find monsters out there. Kill them and you'll get experience and they'll drop stuff. Equip whatever stuff you can and take the rest back to towm and sell it. With the money you can buy and/or gamble more and better stuff. Rinse and repeat. The next thing you know you're a Guardian.

And thats great, and I wish you luck I really do! But do HC like HC, not like SC. Otherwise you will just be bored and pissed off.

    Hahaha!

    It's rare, but yes.

Some people (myself included) do not do the 'Rush' thing and then end up with super characters in two days in Hell level without ever swinging a weapon. They trade for the exotic equipment and rush the levels and end up with a character that for all intent and purposes should be uber, but because they don't know how to actually PLAY diablo they die and blame the build.

Cracks me up when guys post questions like "I'm a level 88 in hell, what should I do with my 90 skill points?" or "I'm in Hell- what gear should I have?"

Well Hmm. IF YOU PLAYED, you'd know what you needed!:soapbox:

Sorry to vent, but this is a sore subject with me.

Trade some of your SC items for forum gold at JSP site, then you can buy HC gear.

It's very difficult to level at times, but here is how: It isn't hard to find a regular game with an enchanter, so find one and level to 24 or 25. Find a game/person to kill ancients, and you're set. Now baal to 40, but DO NOT USE YOUR BAAL QUEST! Stay in normal and level to 40.

People are always looking for level 40s in normal to grush level1s to hell. You'll be able to tag along, and you might be able to get some items out of it as well.

Your problem will be after you get rushed to hell. There are usually 0 NM public games. If there are any, they are full of TPPKers. The same goes for hell: they are either advertising for trade, or TPPK games. However, understand that there are TONS of people and games going on in the background. The difficult part is finding people who will take a chance and trust you. But once you get into these groups, it's 10x better than softcore. People help each other out, gear each other, baal/cs each other.

My best advice is after you're hell rushed and level 40, find a paladin, barb, or someone that uses a char that is more difficult to TPPK with that is rushing a friend. Every now and then games pop up where a level 70 - 80 is making pub games to get a friend to high levels.

Don't ask me for gear though.

Pah. Delete your SC chars, forget about them. Play HC like you are hardcore, die a lot, learn a lot, learn to play the game. Wealth means nothing, a cracked sash and some potions is all you need, literally, with some classes. That, fast reflexes and a working brain.

Plenty of HC players get by without that.

Is there a great deal of lag on Hard Core ladder? I'd be interested in how hard core players are able to deal with it.

    Good luck and good hunting!

Lag isn't any different on HC from SC we just build solid characters and thus b/c we play them through and know their exact limits we don't lose them to something stupid. The ones who don't hang around and learn to build a decent char are the ones who complain about the lag.

    Cheers

Hey. I'm in Canada now, but I damn well complained about my 450-800 average ping when I was playing from Malaysia. I kinda hung around! And I'm almost personally insulted by that! (not really)

Knowing when to bail out on a game does matter too. Arcane lag deaths anyone?
