    OT: What you listen to?

    Hello there!!

So, basically, what kind of music you listen to? I like the most piano music, I hear yanni, diblasio, clayderman and the like, I also like classical music, I like beethoven, mozart and tchaikovsky and currently I'm listening a lot to Lounge music.

When I do runs, I like to listen to music, Lounge is good, or some rock to "heat up" the things

I like to go to everywhere with the music on, so I either carry my MP3 reproducer or the lap, and the car obviously has the stereo.

What do you like to listen to?

Metal all the way. Mainly thrash and death metal. I used to listen to a bit of power and heavy metal, but not anymore. Atm I am getting into Bolt Thrower, an awesome slow crushing death metal band. A few days ago Behemoth (blackened death metal) were my favourite band. So I like the raw and aggressive, yet technical stuff, you get the idea!

I like a wide variety of music. Atm I'm listening to War Of The Worlds. I love that sound track and can't wait to see the movie.
Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens, Whitesnake, Black Sabath, Meat Loaf etc. C&W, some Jazz. Whatever takes my fancy at that time

I a music omnivore, and I don't really care for labels. My taste mostly goes to (hard) rock, but I like (some) Jazz, metal, classic, whatever. If I "feel" it's ok, it's just that, OK. Catagorizing my taste doesn't interest me.

So I have a weird collection of CDs (and downloads) spanning JS Bach, the Prodigy, Opeth, Deep Purple, Suzanne Vega, Raccoon, Radio Head, Krezip, teh Stones, Hans Dulfer, Ayreon, Stonehenge#x etc.

I seem to have a natural revulsion to marketing concepts, but any moment now any of the above could prove to be just that. Which I won't care one hoot about. I like what I like.

My personal favorite video game music substitute is Primus - Frizzle Fry, however I vary greatly on what I listen to. Soul Coughing (any), Faith No More - Angel Dust, Red Hot Chili Peppers - Mother's Milk, Soundgarden - Badmotorfinger are all good albums for kickin' e-butt.

Its funny that this topic came up - I was thinking about songs that would be appropriate to listen to at certian points during a game (playing solo or with others). For example - when your HC character has a sliver of life left from Hell Ancients and you are quick enough to tp outta there, the song "Nearly Lost You" by the Screaming Trees would come in...

I listen to anything that's good. Rap, country, metal.
I mainly listen to 80's stuff, and loads of 60's and 70's. I also love classical. MAinly Paganini and Bach, but I'll try anything.

Usually classical, an opera, or Frank Sinatra, but it depends on my mood.

Other bands that get a lot of rotation:

The Doors, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Beatles, The Who, Johnny Cash, Bonnie Raitt, Alice in Chains, Loreena McKennitt, Mazzy Star, Phish, Natalie Merchant, Grateful Dead, Robert Johnson, and many, many others that I'm just forgetting at the moment. I love music.

Lately I've been getting a kick out of downloading and listening to old cylinder recordings from this preservation site.

I like good music, regardless of genre. If a song/composition is interesting in any way, I'm interested.
I listen to certain genres more than others (labeling merely for convenience):

    - Classical: Symphonic music (Shostakovich, Tchaikovsky, Bruckner, Messiaen). Rite of Spring by Stravinsky for teh win!
If you're adventurous in classical music, try the Turangalîla symphony by Olivier Messiaen! It's guaranteed to make you puke or amaze you (or both at the same time).
If you like something crazy but more accessible: Le Concert Champêtre by Francis Poulenc (with Harpsichord). I guess that you could call this early twentieth century french classical rock music, with the harpsichord substituting electric guitar.
I also like to listen to organ music, because that's the instrument I play myself. Favorite composers for this instrument: Bach (the composer for this instrument), Widor, Vierne, Dupré, Duruflé, Bruhns, Buxtehude, Sweelinck, Messiaen (yes, him again).

    - Pop: Not that much, I'm so busy listening to other genres, that my knowledge of this field is somewhat limited. I like Radiohead (esp. their latest albums, don't kick me for labeling them as Pop!). I also really like to listen to Celtic folk (especially Breton folk, like Tri Yann).

    - Metal: Sometimes (rarely), I put Chaosphere by Meshuggah in the playlist. It's got amazing rhythms and I admire the music for that, but it really makes me want to destroy stuff after listening to it.

    - Electronic: Plaid, Autechre, Squarepusher, Amon Tobin, The Black Dog, Aphex Twin.

Playing while I type this: Spanners by The Black Dog.
Playing as I whack Pindle: Confield, Draft 7.30, Untilted (all Autechre).

I used to be an out-and-out Rocker in my teens/early twenties but have mellowed with age and listen to most things now, dependent on mood.

My car CD currently has Anastacia, Jimmy Nail, Moby, Magnum, Marillion and Bruce Springsteen loaded.

A bit more laid back for someone who once stuck his head in a bass-bin at a Motorhead concert

I like coutry music. Rascal Flatts, Martina McBride, a bunch of others. I like GGD and MB20. Switchblade Symphony is good for a change of pace. Freshmen by Verve is one of my favorite songs. Misery by Soul Asylum is good too. I have some relaxing music on the computer. Enigma and Josh Groban. Bare Naked Ladies is good. I also have the Chronicles of Narnia as books on tape as mp3s. Not music, but I listen to it. I had Dune, but thats like 17 hours long. Its faster to read the book.
