    Matriarch Aruru

Aruru, goddess of creation, is said to have created man from clay.

Aruru, my newest Matriarch, makes Urdars from corpses. It all started with an idea while I was reading the Epic of Gilgamesh. I saw the name and the occupation, and I thought that it would be cool to build an enchantress around Clay Golem. From there, the idea evolved to Revives, since I had seem them owning Uber Trist. The runeword "Hamony" looked appealing, and from there a month or so of Countess running yielded me the correct runes.
After a trade for the bow (Thanks Zali!, she finally began to take form.

    So, here are some stats!

    LCS
    (http://img161.imageshack.us/img161/9648/screenshot003rb5.jpg)

    Level 83

    Strength: 149

    Dexterity:147

    Vitality: 243

    Energy: 37

    Resists:
    -1/-37/37/30

    Skills:

    20 Enchant
    20 Warmth
    20 Frozen Orb
    10 Fire Mastery
Rest into prereqs, one point wonders.

Well, fighting is hard. That is the only thing I can say.

Ok, it is actually nearly impossible. Were it not for FO, originally for backing up my minions, I would have been dead a long time ago. I lack the AR to hit anything, and IAS is a serious problem. Oh, wait, equipment:

    Shako
    Sander's Taboo
Treks (Thanks to Thy and her baal running crew)
    Mavina's Belt
    Vipermagi (30/30)
    Manald
    Rare ring with AR
Rare amulet with +2 cold skills

    And these:
    Plague Gyre
    Smoked Sphere
    One-Hand Damage: 4 to 10
    Durability: 35 of 35
    (Sorceress Only)
    Required Level: 30
Orb Class - Normal Attack Speed
    Item Version: 1.10+ Expansion
    Item Level: 43
    Fingerprint: 0x86eb43d8
    +17 to Energy
    +10 to Life
    Magic Damage Reduced by 2
    Lightning Resist +14%
    Cold Resist +19%
    +2 to Meteor (Sorceress Only)
    +3 to Enchant (Sorceress Only)
+2 to Fire Skills (Sorceress Only) <<<Thank you to whoever gave this to me!
    Level 1 Blizzard (33/33 Charges)

    Harmony
    Diamond Bow
    'TirIthSolKo'
    Two-Hand Damage: 118 to 141
    Required Dexterity: 132
    Required Strength: 89
    Required Level: 54
Bow Class - Normal Attack Speed
    Item Version: 1.10+ Expansion
    Item Level: 82
    Fingerprint: 0x85fc6d5a
    +10 to Dexterity
    +231% Enhanced Damage
    +9 to Minimum Damage
    +9 to Maximum Damage
    Regenerate Mana 20%
    Adds 55-160 fire damage
    Adds 55-160 lightning damage
Adds 55-160 cold damage over 5 seconds
    +2 to Light Radius
    +4 to Valkyrie
+2 to Mana After Each Kill
Level 10 Vigor Aura When Equipped
    Level 20 Revive (12/25 Charges)
    Socketed (4: 4 used)

Well, the drops for her were really bad, nothing worth mentioning.

I think that is about it, so thank you to all who helped me in the endeavor, and you can finally stop hearing about "My secret character".

(Oh, and maybe one day I'll write a guide for Arurur, but until then I have trademarked this build! Ha! )

Good job! I'll admit, I often looked at the revive charges on Harmony and thought, "that would make a cool character", but then I lost hope.

    GG for not giving up!

Amazing. Just when I thought almost any possible build has been covered, someone comes along and builds a reviverchantress. My hat's off to you, sir.

How long do your black dorks last? How expensive are the revive charges?

So what do we call her? The Necrosorcazon?

    That's pretty cool.

Necrowytch would be a cool name, I think.

Congrats on the Pat, especially with the themed build.

    Wow, a theme build
And some red numbers in the resists department

The entire idea seems very interesting. I'm little surprised Aruru has troubles with AR. My sorceresses have always used 1pt enchant with melee weapons as a backup and fared decently..
I'd certainly put 1 point in Lightning Mastery and Chilling armor.

I must also admit this "Harmony" thing is really tempting my vanilla status for some time

Write us something more about your experience, tactic, etc. And congrats on the Mat in any case!

Thank you all for the kind words, I will try to answer the questions:

@AJK - I try to revive Urdars or Frenzytaurs if possible, and they usually last the full 3 minutes. However, in heated combat against something dealing constant damage they can die. Oh, and the full 25 charges costs, well, you even you would have to do a few horking runs to repair it.

About the name, well, I have no idea. As cool as Necrosorcazon sounds, it is a tad confusing.

@Ugla - I thought the AR boost from Enchant would be more than enough to handle any problems that may arise, but I found out early on that this isn't quite true. I have around a 70% chance to hit with most monsters, in Baal runs that drops down to a low of ~45% with the big boy himself. This is what I usually average, but for some reason I don't seem to be making as many hits as Zealot did with the same amount.
    Also, why Lite Mastery?

As far as tactics, in the solo playing I summon a Valkyrie, raise my mercenary, enchant them both with my weapon switch (Valk does not disappear as long as you are in town and act fast), then try to hit the Palace Cellar for some big dumb guys with clubs.

After I have raised a comfortable number of them, I teleport to my destination and nearly on top of my enemy, to get the Urdars to focus. They aren't very bright. Oh, and I have to make sure they are all Enchanted.
During combat, I sling Orbs to keep the enemy slowed while my minions keep them stunned and my mercenary delivers serious pain.

What surprised me most about this build was the power of the Valkyrie. At level 7, she is able to tank most superuniques, even Andariel. The Enchant doesn't make her damage godly, but when her, my mercenary, and a bunch of Revives are smacking around a boss, it is something special.

    The Future of Aruru
Equipment is the main problem with Aruru. She lacks AR, resists, and any source of IAS. As such, her arrows are slow and rarely hit, making her worthless as anything but an enchant slave.
I am thinking an IAS j00l in the Vipermagi, an amulet that gives +all skillz, and a belt with Piercing would make her at least capable of killing something.

Other than that, she can't duel, and Baal running is out of the question, so I might try Pit runs or, if I get ambitious enough, WSK runs.

BTW, could someone with know-how on the numbers please tell me if the damage from revived Urdars is anything other than negligible?

I mentioned LM, since it might boost the lightning part of the damage from "Harmony" nicely with one mere point and some +skills. But seeing how you described Aruru's role, it's probably not worth it.

Congratulations on the matriach, that must have taken some patience.

I had an idea for a Paladin and Fanaticism using Harmony, but I'm not sure I could stand the lack of damage from the character itself. Of course if I was wading in Bers and Surs I could make a 2h Zealot and do it with Eternity. So there is a build that will never happen.

    Congrats on the mat.

Sorry to resurrect a slightly old thread, but I got the link from the 'hardest character' thread and I think I see your problem with AR - whilst you have a fair bit of %AR, you don't have very much flat AR for it to work on.

Swapping out some of the jewelery or putting on the IK boots/gloves (and possibly belt) would add a fair bit of AR for your enchant to be working on and might mean you can actually hit things.

I'd like to keep the IAS from the gloves, so would IK belt and boots give the AR boost?

Gloves + some adds IAS as well, I believe.

The bonuses from 3 pieces of IK set yield 25% IAS (20% from Sanders), 235 flat AR bonus, and 25% MF, bundled together. If you take away the gloves, you still have to get to 110 STR to wear the belt, and you lose an extra 5% IAS (not sure that matters with that weapon or not). The problem with using that set's equipment is the strength investment, but once you add up all of the bonuses it becomes pretty tasty for someone looking for flat AR.

Edit: but then again, dropping the manald for a ravenfrost would do roughly the same thing and allow you to keep barbarian equipment from weighing down a pretty little sorceress.

I think that was at first the plan, but I ran out of Raven Frosts and it didn't work out. It's been so long since I've fired up D2, I think I'll have to go and investigate this matter.

    Wow, nice build!

Did you end up using Valkyrie, too? Might have fitted in well among those Revives

Yeah, the Valkyrie is my secondary tank, and when she spawns the right color, she tanks like nobody's business. I finally figured out that any +all skills adds to the Valkyrie's level, so I might get some prebuff gear for that.
