    Ko... Vex... Pul... (*crossing fingers*)... Thul...

    I've never been lucky with HotOs, they seem to hate me... always roll <35 ones.

    Now I've tried to build my first HotO of the season, in a 12% ED 3 AR flail.

    If you can read french, see by yourself !

    That's right, the combination is a bit... funny. "Undead" could be more accurately translated to "Non-vivant" :scratch:.

    OP- congrats on the roll! Gotta love it when the Law of averages finally cuts you a break.

    Actually I made a 25 Fort myself last night and thought I hit the bottom roll. But according to Arreat Summit, the range is 20-30, so 25 is middle of the pack.

    I lucked out with my HotO, came out 38 and I'm quite happy with it. My Grief, not so much - 355 damage and 31 IAS. I was almost thinking of taking a Hel to it so I can retrieve my self-found +3 AR 5os Phase, but I'll eventually trade it.

    "Non-vivant" translates to "non-living", i.e. dead. "Undead" would be, if one were to do a really crappy literal translation, "non-mort", which would mean..."living"... You could play with "revenant", but then you'd have no word for the Wraiths and Ghosts.

    "Morts-vivants" means "living dead", and it's the proper translation.

    Does anyone know where I could view more screenshots of the game in French? I love it.

    Edit: Did they come up with Hérétique from the pronounciation of Heart Of The Oak? Ah, the mysteries of Blizzard and translation combined.

    Concerning french screenshots, just ask me and I'd be glad to post whatever you want to see :grin:.

    Concerning the funny translations, well, there's something remarkable, that is probably due to a technical restriction of the game : *ALL* the runewords (but one...) have been translated so that the first letter is kept.

    Some examples :
    Legend : English RW - French translation (English translation of the French)

    "Normal" ones (i.e. the first letter is the same in the french translation) :

    Fury - Furie (Fury)
    Honor - Honneur (Honor)
    Memory - Mémoire (Memory)
    Silence - Silence (Silence)
    Splendor - Splendeur (Splendor)
    Crescent Moon - Croissant de Lune (Crescent Moon)

    "Modified" ones :

    HotO - Hérétique (Heretic)
    Insight - Iris (Iris)
    Call to Arms - Cicatrice (Scar)
    Breath of the Dying - Bagne (Bagne = sort of Jail)
    Gloom - Guerre (War)
    Last Wish - Lèpre (Leprosy)

    Some funny ones :

    Lionheart - Livre (Book...)
    Smoke - Soupe (Soup :shocked: )

    And some really *weird* ones :

    Pride - Pierre (Stone........)
    Stone - Sacrifice (Sacrifice)

    Black - Blanc (White............)
    White - Wali (Whatever it's supposed to mean...)

    As I've told before, there's only ONE exception :

    Spirit - Esprit (Spirit !! yes :laughing: )

    GOD only knows *why* there's 1 and 1 exception only... Blizzard is acting funny sometimes.

    I believe this naming rule is the same in other languages ? Maybe someone in another country can let us know, just out of curiosity :grin: !

    Well not really... I`ve got polish version and it`s like:
    Heart of the oak = serce dębu (heart of the oak)
    Fury = furia (fury)
    Black = czerń (black)
    Stone = kamień (stone/rock)
    Insight = Wnikliwość (what the ****??? Well, not insight, that`s for sure)
    Duress = przymus (duress)

    and my favourite:
    Chains of honor = okowa grozy (chains of fear) <-- the one and only fuc*** up translation, i think

    Now that's funny, I really wonder why they translated the french version so badly :hanky:...
    Ah anyway, everybody knows nothing's like the original versions : movies, games, books, even music :grin:...
