    Important question about Weapons Master

I just saw a forum post where some guy said that only 1handed weapons benefit from the Weapons Master passive. Is it really true? :S If it is, it really sucks! Have to change alot of builds then.

Weapons Master says it works with Polearms. There are no 1H Polearms. Ergo, Weapons Master works with 2H.

But I have read somewhere that Weapon Master only affects the Mainhand. So dualwielding two types of weapons won´t grant you two bonuses. True?

If you're dual weilding, you won't get the bonus twice. ie: 5% crit wouldn't be 10%.

I wonder how it works with two different types of weapons though.

I would guess that if you have a mace in your main hand and a mighty weapon in your off hand that both weapons gain +% chance to crit.

So eqipping a 2h Axe,will give you 10% crit chance to crit as well as 1h? wow so the 2h axe has the highest dps+with this 10% crit chance to hit gnna crit loads, with other skills, items, etc

It says in the tool-tip: "Gain a bonus based on the weapon type of your main hand weapon".

Re: Important question about Weapons Master

It is still a little vague. Since when DW you swing each weapon in order, and your damage changes each swing depending on weapon..so will the +dmg or +Crit only be effective every other swing when you use your main hand?

I bet it will affect both of your weapons. Otherwise Weapons Master will always be worse with dual-wielding compared to using with two-handers.

It affects both weapons when using WMMW at least, regardless of offhand weapon type. I think it is very safe to say offhand weapons isn't any issue here!

Superstate, did you ever find out how fury gen will work with MW and WW? I'm more interested in the 2H weapons with it. Will we only get 3 fury per attack, or will we get it per hit (up to a couple monsters hit a second?)

Re: Important question about Weapons Master

In the beta it was hugely overpowered with each hit (each monster) yielding fury, even on spenders.

I made a video of it a while back.

We can't really know if this is the behavior on retail though. If it remains the same, WMMW is by far the most powerful passive for any build using some kind of spender.

Re: Important question about Weapons Master

You know, it sounds stupid, but I never thought about gaining fury off of a spender. I just assumed it didn't work like that. If you think about it like that, then there's absolutely no way that they'll have it like we're thinking. The problem is how else can they do it? We only gain 3 fury for a whole channel of WW? Then that's completely under powered. 3 fury a second? Decent, but probably not worth wasting a passive point on it.

I'm interested to see how it works. Has anyone that can actually post on the official forums asked this question? Seems like something that should be cleared up.

Re: Important question about Weapons Master

Until we can test it again, I'll assume that Weapons Master works the same way the Life on hit affix does. I did some preliminary testing with it here: http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?815482-DoT-and-Pet-Scaling&p=8273781&highlight#post8273781

My guess is these on hit effects will work per hit (duh), but they won't always grant you their full benefit depending with certain skills. Their bonus may also be normalized for weapon speeds, although that's unlikely.
