    Free to pay online?

Will this be free to play online like D2 or will there be a monthly fee like WoW?
I realize its not an MMORPG so a monthly fee would be stupid but I've heard rumours...

Rumours are just that, rumours. Funny how everytime someone says "I've heard rumours" it's just not true. Nothing personal, by the way, just a general observation. :)

This one is actually true, but which animal the nipples come from vary by chain and/or location.

    Re: Free to pay online?

Actually they have been swearing all along that they wouldn't charge a fee...however they also swore they would deliver "the best possible game...possible" "full of innovation and the features you fans want most!" And all that is turning out to be a LIE. So yeah...I wouldn't be surprised that they decide to slap a monthly fee on it at the last minute...after all those fools have shelled out 100.00 each for a CE. LOL

Heck, the game doesn't even come with PVP for the price you pay. You have to wait a year for them to "patch it in". How sad. A CORE game feature and they can't even include it during launch. I am surprised the mouse buttons are able to be used still,

Riddle, may I suggest yoga or hiking? You spend the last several days venting an extraordinary amount of rage directed at Blizzard. You need a healthier outlet.

What part of PvP NOT being included in the launch is a "crap or lazy" argument? What part of NOT including PvP is NOT "crap or lazy" on behalf of Blizz? Please do tell...

    Re: Free to pay online?

No, still cool and innovative. The core of the mechanism (modifying each skill) is still there. How it has been implemented has changed. They changed it from a item drop system, to a branching tree mechanism. Is it implemented in the way I would prefer, no. I think the item system could have worked with appropriate rune sinks/alterations to past mechanics. With the skill tree system I think it would have been better to allow the player to choose which skills she/he unlocked first. But as an outsider looking in, I don't know how it actually felt while playing when the other systems were being tested.

So I fail to see how it is crap/a sign of laziness.

    Re: Free to pay online?

Well, if the PvP system sucked at launch, people would call it crap, and call Blizz lazy for not fixing a crappy system. It's not an integral part of the main game, so they held it back to tweak it until it's right.

    Re: Free to pay online?

Sorry but I'm really enjoying beta and looking forward to release, so all you haters can hate and sit in your misery, it's really shaped up after the last couple of patches and as for pvp, it'll be implemented, if you aren't happy about it go play something else, its your right as a consumer, if you have the patience to wait though Im sure youll be satisfied, better than having a half assed pvp system that causes more hate and whine...because lets be honest here, theres been plenty of hate and whine, some justified, a LOT unjustified.

    I'm wasting my breath though

    Re: Free to pay online?

I love the bit you said about "your right as a consumer". Right like it was my right to exact the product promised for the money I was to shell out...but per Bashiok's OWN WORDS: "lower your expectations...but still buy it." I have explained this many times. Would you allow a car sales to sell you a Pinto at the Corvette price when he has a Corvette on the lot but feels you should "lower your expectations" of your what your dream car is? Would you still buy the Pinto, KNOWING it wasn't what you wanted?

    Hmmm?

I am not alone in my observations that Blizz seems to NOT know what they are doing with this title. Going in circles with systems and are now panicking and rushing it out the door (as fast as Blizz can rush) WITHOUT PvP. Sad...really sad that anyone in their right mind would accept this as "good" or "acceptable" behavior for ANY company producing ANY product.

This entire dev cycle is eerily similar to another title that was SUPPOSED to produce BIG but sadly was a fart in the wind...HGL.

The truth is and I know the fanboys amongst you WON'T comprehend this...the vitriol that I lob at Blizz over this title does FAR more good that being a "yes man" and sucking up all the tripe they lay before you.
That is NOT how you exercise your "rights as a consumer". If a product sucks, it is your right, I say RESPONSIBILITY to let the maker of said substandard product know that it sucks.

With enough complaint, the company has to consider making the appropriate changes, if not...they FAIL and then...no one gets what they want. Blizz won't get their oodles of cash for the "next big thing" and I don't get the game I have been waiting over a decade for. If this was a Final Fantasy of Madden NFL game, I wouldn't give two craps 'cause those come out on a YEARLY basis. Seriously.

But this is a completely different animal. They have strung us along for the past four years alone with tons of info, which I poured over just like you lot, I watched hours of gameplay videos and then the changes began. The changes for worse that is. Then I got into the beta and...OUCH.

So I don't make my statements without any experience to back them up. This game can be fixed but it is up to us to get Blizz to fix it. Can't that be seen? Or am I expecting too much from the community?

Judging from the fanboy "Blizz can do no wrong" responses...I 'spose so.

    Re: Free to pay online?

    You are wrong.

It's your right to not buy the product if you think it sucks and it's our right to buy it and have fun with it and not have to read through your hate mail if we think it doesn't suck. Yes, we can argue and have different viewpoints and try to convince each other that we have seen the light and our opinion is the definite truth but unless you stop imposing your voice and start listening to others you will fail miserably.

It' probably not your fault as I am aware that some people are raised to believe that it's their "gift from above to rid the world of evil and let everybody now that their opinions are the ones to follow" but I am terribly sorry to disappoint you that there are also "other opinions" out there that may or may not have some validity.
