    Barbarian weapon specialisation

    What is the best weaponspeacialisation for barbarians (PVM solo), Atm I'm lvl 4, but I got a great mace weapon for my lvl 7-12 one hand dmg, +1 min dmg, +1 max dmg, +11 attack rating, + 87% dmg to undead, + 43attackrating to undead, + 1-3 lightening dmg, +2 t mana. That is pretty OP at lvl 4, and I expect to use it for most if not all of act 1.

    Though ofcourse act one on normal is only a very short part of the game, so what would be the best way to go in the long run? I plan to get 20 in Battle order, 20 in mastery skill, 20 in berserk and 20 in shout as my main skills.

    Also would you general go for 1h+ shield, 2 1h or a 2hand weapon?

    That depends on whether you are getting items ( twinking ) or not.
    If you want to get berserk, I would suggest maxing howl instead of shout. The defense won't help much, and howl actually goes really well with berserk at times ( howl away minions and kill just the boss ).
    As for shield vs 2H again the same question. If you have a good shield, like stormshield, I would definitely say use it. Stuff like Moser's are also okay. Grief phase blade + stormshield 'shael' is a very solid zerk setup, but of course you can't really get that untwinked.

    Since respecs are there in the game, I would start out by putting 1 pt in each mastery, and then wing it as you go along depending on what weapon you find. Use 1 point double swing until you can decide which combat skill you want to go for ( put 1 point in them to test ).

    I choosed shout just as much for the synergy with Battleorders and battlecommand as for the buff itself, and both shout and howl gives thes same synergy to Berzerk.

    Your skill choice very much depends on how twinked you'll be playing. If playing solo and untwinked Nightfish's 1.10 Berserker Guide will tell you most of what you need to know, sans the fact that Double Swing is the best way to get through the early game. For norm I usually go for one point in axe, sword and mace masteries, Double Swing until it doesn't cost mana any more (lvl 7 iirc) and then sink the rest in Bash. You can respec once you get the weapons or skill points to make Conc/Berserk/WW a more effective attack.

    Shout is indeed useful as a synergy to BO while you're leveling up, but with a poorly equipped Berserker you'll want a couple in Howl so you can use it effectively (the chance for it to work depends on your own and Howl's level compared to that of the monster).

    Just recently restarted the game and am going untwinked. Best advice was given to me about WM: don't worry about it until you reach endgame when it is your last ability, as you do not know what weapons will drop and as a result do not know what weapons you will be using.

    With 3 free respecs available and limitless relatively cheap respecs after that, I think Hubb's '1 point in Axe/Sword/Mace' policy is better than skipping putting points in any of them. The first point offers the biggest bonus and after +skills it can be very significant; not something to miss just to save 3 points (15%-30% ed and maybe 30% ar spent elsewhere) in my opinion.

    For weapon mastery, it depends on if you are going twinked or untwinked. If you are trading, I would lean towards maces as Bonesnap, Ribcracker, Windhammer, and/or IK Maul are all cheap and fairly effective in PvM. If going self-found, I would just wait and see what you find along the way.

    I'll second Hubb's advice about Shout. If you are using Berserk, your defense is going to be zero most of the time anyways. A high level Howl gives amazing crowd control if playing untwinked or on a budget.

    lance= good for range and highest damage
    sword= good verstility- 1 h, or 2 h
    axe= good for nothing (axe is just bad version of a maul lol)
    maul= good for damage reliability+highest damage ^^

    Well, don't forget, you get 3 free respecs now.

    At end game, I love Tomb Reaver for Pit Runs, and well, everything else, so on my most recent build (where I found a Tomb Reaver), I went sword and swapped to Polearm at the end. Why Sword? Well, Ali Baba mostly, but like always, it allows you to go sword and board, or dual, or a big two hander. Super!

    Mainly because I also use swords on my Paladin, so they could swap hand me downs.

    In Classic, I went with Mace, because the ultimate run is Chaos Sanctuary where 2 of the 3 mobs are undead, and Venom Lords are pitifully easy with max fire resist.
