    72 hour marathon

I have a group of 4 that are doing a 72 hour marathon @ launch. Do you think we will reach inferno in 72 hours?

I said no.. but how will you be clearing each run? Full exploration, watching all videos and listening to all dialog or Blitzing as fast as possible?

If you Blitz and no one passes out you'll probably do it.

Everyone with their own char or shifts? 'cause I'm kinda assuming no one's staying awake 72 hours...lest you mean first 72 hours of in-game play.

Possibly...but you definitely won't be beating inferno, even with another 72 hours :)

I think that beating Hell in 72 hours with a group of 4 is quite realistic.

As obsessed as I am with D3, I'm getting at LEAST 7 hours of sleep each night :p.

I think you're going to die IRL, so you may see hell if you've been bad.

    Re: 72 hour marathon

The longest I've stayed up with zero sleep is 46 hours playing d2 for the first ladder of 1.10. My eyes felt like they had sand paper scrapping up against them every time I blinked. It was much much worse than working 24 hours straight (machine operator at the time) and being awake for 37 hours.

I do think you'll get to inferno in 72 hours, probably less. But, be careful and drink plenty of water and eat healthy up to and during this. I don't care what you think or what you've heard. You absolutely need to eat good carbs and a fair amount of protein, else you will likely end up feeling ill. Try to stay away from as much fats and sugar as possible. Sugar will cause you to "crash" and fats take too long to break down into energy.

Also make sure to stop drinking caffeine now if you plan on using it to help you stay awake. That way each drink will last you several hours and minimizes the heart risks.

P.S. I'm a pretty hardcore gamer and I wouldn't try this. I'd much rather do 24-30 hours on release then sleep 7 and go for another 16 hours...repeat.

I don't think all of you are going to make it 72 hours.

72 hours is a long time without sleep.

    Re: 72 hour marathon

I guess my question is this: Why would you want to basically complete the entire game in 72 hours? It won't be much of a game if it can be beaten in that amount of time. I'm hoping it takes me at least a couple of weeks to get to 60 and full clear. Maybe I'm not being realistic.

    Re: 72 hour marathon

I think you can easily reach Inferno in 72 hours, and also much less than that.

72 hour marathon still sounds like a bad idea though, but have fun.

    Re: 72 hour marathon

72 hours are high for a game today. Completing hell isnt exactly equal completing the game either.
Also, trying to reach some goal in a game as fast as you can is pretty damn fun for a lot of people.

I said yes, but you should definitely get some sleep in there or it'll be bad for you.

60 is the most I've ever done straight. Slept for almost 18 hours after.. Good luck but follow the earlier post about nutrition

    Re: 72 hour marathon

Staying awake for 72 hours playing a game (any game) doesn't sound like fun to me, more like torture. I don't really know why you'd want to put yourself through this. I'm pretty sure that staying awake for 72 hours straight is pretty bad for your health as well.

Answering your question, yes, I do think one can reach Inferno in 72 hours when rushing as fast as possible and playing with 3 able partners.
