Specific question about larzuk

So, I know that he adds the maximum amount of sockets to an item, depending on the itemlevel.

But, first question, does that count for ethereal without sockets aswell?

The second questions, more important one, if I would find an ethereal great poleaxe without sockets in the pit, and I would take it to larzuk to add sockets, does that mean I'll get a 6 socket ethereal great poleaxe that can be used for a runeword ( botd in this particular question )?

I would be happy for some information about this, I've been looking around, but couldn't find an exact answer. If it would work, then that would make things easier.

I don't think that it matters if a weapon is ethereal. Although I'm a bit confused about just how Larzuk works after he only gave me 4 sockets in a Double Axe the other day, when the max is 5. I had thought that he always gives the max.

Sorry if this isn't very helpful... but I'm hoping to get some answers, too.

And btw, I think the Statistics forum would be the best place for this question.
