Keep it simple. possible solution to pvp

Here's an idea. If the game mechanics are anything like they were in diablo 2 and before you create a game you get to choose the game name, password, description, and level level requirements; why not just add "Allow pvp" as another check box like the level requirements?

Good idea, but probably going to work just like the system where you can deny hostility. But it could be annoying, so removing it from the start will also be viable.

THis is still the best idea i have heard.
if the game is flagged pvp then you know what you are getting yourself into.

you can be attacked by anyone at anytime.

of course the group you form should help protect you.

Yes yes, this sounds like a good idea to me. Nip it in the bud.

I know this sounds stupid and retarded but make like special pvp servers where u die and lose everything and other different servers where t die and drop an ear. One safe othe unsafe. But it would attract more people think if you could pk an enigma or a shako...All the possibilities

Another good way to utilize this feature is to have a filter that will show only games with pvp or without pvp on.

That way, if you want to duel, you can easily find a game.

Re: Keep it simple. possible solution to pvp

From my experiencie in games i think it would be a good idea just to create some exclusive maps (small maps) or a duel gamemode when u create a game, so u just don't run from town to duel in a random ground.
Something like a "last man standing" mod would be great like some maps with arenas or something for a 5/6 duel game where the last man wins :d (and other mods ofcourse)
Just some ideas maybe stupid but there's alot of that on FPS which i've played for several years and at a profissional way and i think duel is the thing everyone does when gets bored of the same old things.
That happened to me on diablo too after get that gear everyone gets to be good and after that u need to test it.. so i think blizz should really try something special here.
It's really relevant too to try to make some competition out of diablo 3.. not just for items and lvl but to prove ur the best. That's the motivation key.

Re: Keep it simple. possible solution to pvp

I agree to some extent, but as someone who spent a few of my d2 years playing hc, that kind of eliminates the thrill of things if you do that.

As far as I'm concerned keep the hostility system as is, if they can get rid of hacks and exploits that we've all fallen prey too. I think I quit hc for good when my high level char fell victim to a tppk in a baal run, so I know how much it sucks, but hc needs that edge to keep it interesting.

In general hc was better gaming because of it, fewer dupes etc
