The D3 Concept Art Series Nameplate

Hey guys been busy the last two days working on a new nameplate for my concept art wallpaper series that will be a companion wallpaper series with the Diablo 3 Wallpaper Series I’m working on when I take a break from the Fiery Runes Series.

This nameplate I wanted to do something different. I wanted to make a new style with more line artwork rather than my usual graphic tweaks and effects. This time I just wanted this nameplate to look like the series is: of concept art! I wanted the nameplate to have that concept art feel; to make it look like it was a sketch like the Diablo 3 artwork that has line art sketches of the wizard, the scavenger and the dune thresher. Besides it didn’t look like anyone was working on this type of wallpaper series and thought it would be nice.

Below is the first beta for the nameplate and I will be updating the post as I make newer revisions of the nameplate. I’m almost done with it but I want the community to help me on the look of this nameplate.

Here is the first beta

Please if you have any suggestions let me know. This Nameplate is meant to be like a concept art piece I did a bevel effect but im not to happy with it and may just use the pencil art and just blend colors.

We'll see but this is beta 1.

Updates soon as I make more tweaks to the nameplate!

Re: The D3 Concept Art Series Nameplate

Update for you, this is the next version I decided to add the Wizard line art to add to this, here is a quote from my comment on the image in my extra’s gallery as well as the image.

Let me know what you think on this beta step more updates to come after dinner.

Re: The D3 Concept Art Series Nameplate

Final update, decided to lose the bevel effect on the line art for the nameplate to give it what I wanted a rougher concept like art piece as I outlined in the first post. Here is the image and the quote before I call it a day and play some WoW!

I still think the Wizard Line art behind it added to it. But i want your opinions let me know what you think. The Wizard line have it art stay or go, and the bevel effect or the original line art like I planned for.

Re: The D3 Concept Art Series Nameplate

I neither have nor want an iphone, but I like #1. Simplier; the other 2 are overbusy. One point; the flattened oval looks reminiscent of the "jesus fish" logo, which is, I assume, unintentional. unless there's a darwin/diablo fish eating it?

Alternatively, you could add tentacles...

nice wasnt an intention of the jesus fish logo, and this stuff is for a concept art series not the iphone, i already have the iphone nameplate made elsewhere.
