Starting on a personal project for fun.
I am going to illustrate each character class with their personal set.
I'm currently working on the Necromancer and Druid, which are my favorite characters..
Im pretty sure you know of Trang-Ouls Avatar.. but do you know the origin of the name behind it?
by lore we learn that Trang-Oul is the dragon upon which the world lies. He is worshiped by the necromancers, and in return grants them wisdom and magic enchantations.
In the game, if you have the complete set - your character turns into a monster-class called vampire, which looks more like a tall wraith-like creature. I will try to incorporate some dragon in the piece aswell.
Here's what I've got so far
And I need some help aswell!
I would very much appreciate if you could help me with the Aldur set .. I don't know anything about Aldur. Can't find any lore behind the set or the person.. I assume he's some kind of guardian, having a "stony gaze" and a "watchtower"
If anyone knows where I can find information about aldur, please send me a note.
cheers!
On to the druid. I'm going to sketch out all 7 characters before I render them.. it'll make it more fun ^^
I've chosen to depict him in with parts of the summoning-spell tree and shapeshifting-tree.
To the left you can see the carrion vine. It morphs into the werewolf, which in turn, morphs into the werebear, which morphs back into the most powerful of summons - grizzleybear.
They're all interlaced to show that they're a part of the druids abilities.
Very nice start. I will be keeping my eye on your progress, most definitely. Unfortunately, I know no D2 lore other than what I can look up on the Diablo wiki.
Thanks Delowyn, yea same here. But it doesn't really matter.. some artistic freedom, and making him orange, and hopefully people will know its the set :P
Did some changes to the druidpiece, instead of having him standing still, I've made him walk towards us like the necromancer. That way, I can have him being occupied with his summoning, and still interact with us viewers by walking towards us. I felt the piece wasn't interesting enough.. nevermind his foot, it looks really crappy.. maybe it would look better with the other foot?
Also done with the sorceress sketch. Barbarian next I guess?..
Here's are loved barb. By wearing the immortal king I've chosen to have the spirit of Bul-Kathos follow the hero, aiding him in battle.
There are some elements I'm still uncertain of, especially the spirit behind him - I think the huge shoulderpads are a bit too much WoW, and also the weapon probably needs some change.
What do you think of the look?
