Re: Purchasing Expensive Plate—Not enough room?

$5K per space with $200k for max. Short of a mod that allows for bigger gold piles. I don't see how. So far. The worst I had was being told I didn't have room because the game wouldn't recognize the space available unless it matched the dimensions of the object.

It wouldn't place a bow 2 spaces wide by three deep into a 2 deep by three wide, etc. If you decide to experiment with a mod. Be sure to back up your game files.

Yeah I just read this:

Jarulf’s Guide to Diablo and Hellfire, v1.62 Created by Pedro Faria

Restrictions on the price
Even if an item would be possible according to anything that has been said above, when the item is sold in town it
cannot be more expensive than the price maximum. This maximum is 140 000 (90 000 at Wirt) gold in Diablo and
200 000 gold in Hellfire (150 000 gold in version 1.00 of Hellfire). Any item more expensive than that will never be
sold. This will also rule out several items such as a merciless long war bow of heavens or an awesome full plate of the
lion, especially at Wirt who could otherwise have sold any item that met the occurrence and level requirements
explained above. Note that the price of items at Wirt is capped before they are modified by 150% in Diablo and 75%
in Hellfire. This makes the effective cap at Wirt to be 135 000 in Diablo and 150 000 in Hellfire (112 500 in version
1.00 of Hellfire). This makes some items that are not available in Diablo available in Hellfire. On rare occasions it
seems that the price, at least in Hellfire, can be slightly higher than the cap.

So I guess it's some BS limitation, I don't know wtf they even show items that you cannot purchase? It's so infuriating to say the least!

Re: Purchasing Expensive Plate—Not enough room?

old game = gots some bugs. happily, osmosis and deflection aren't that useful long term anyway, and that's the only plate property that spawns with such a price tag. (others would, but they're not sold by gris)

As far as I remember there was a quest in Hellfire (destroying the bug nest for the farmer?) after which you would be rewarded with an "auric amulet" (?) that would double the amount of gold that could be held by your character.

True. Every quest is extensively documented in the wiki now.

Also, price limits were tweaked in Hellfire, so you can buy more expensive things than you could in Diablo, but due to how the price caps and items offered work, you won't ever get to buy anything that's like, 300k.

AH HAAAAAA!!!! That's the answer I've been looking for! EXCELLENT my good man! Knowing it had to come from an admin lol and not the layman. I'm clvl8 atm.... damn is it (The Dark Mod) hard!

I've got some pretty kick arse gear for my char after endless farming and sales and I still get hacked up by 2 devil Kins and 1 stupid goat-macer thing! I just cannot remember how I ever got to hell in these games. The gear I have is hella expensive:

Bard:

Helm: Topaz Cap of Sky:
AC4, Res-All +16%, +4All

Armor: Armor of Sky:
AC10, +4All

Ammy= none

Weaps:
2x Deadly Sword of Sky:
4-6dmg, 57%EDmg, +4All

Club of Sky: (1.5x to undead)
4-6dmg, +3All

2xRing of Sky: +4All

Stats:
AC27, ToHit 84%, (Club+sword) dmg 15-21,
22-30 (Swords)

WTF? This Girl is a machine, but I still get macked (in the psn water supply level!)?
