Battle.net chat

It would be awesome if I could hang out in BNet chats outside of the game client. I want to be able to talk to people playing while I'm at work or doing other stuff.

Re: Battle.net chat

It could be possible, I guess. Depends on if Blizz wants to use a Steam-like client.

Re: Battle.net chat

The current model is best imo. It allows for players to go straight to game instead of others erroneously assuming that you aren't in a purely chat mode. But they could always prevent that issue with a chat icon.

Re: Battle.net chat

I heard a bunch of game developers at a conference recently talking about how they all wanted their games to be more accessible to their players all the time, from multiple places and platforms. They were talking about things like the WoW character viewer for the IPhone. Outside access to the chat client, from the web or even from your cellphone, would be a really easy way to implement that I'd think.

Re: Battle.net chat

There was a chatclient that you could use to join battlenet channels.. i think they disabled anything but public chat -chatrooms at some point tho.
