Description of "Spider Statue" skill

Quote:
...Spider Statue," which unleashes a circular horde of biting, stinging arachnids...spiders thus became defensive powers, best utilized when the zombie dogs died and those monsters left alive would charge. They also did pretty good as crowd control for monsters that had broken off from the main body of creeps.

I recommend reading the entire article. It gives a good feel for how the WD plays.

Quote:
The Spider Statue skill summons a statue that causes spiders to emerge from the ground and cover nearby monsters, dealing poison damage. Afflicted monsters take damage faster the longer they are near the statue.

So, it's like a nova...only with spiders.

Does anyone have screenshots?

I really liked using this skill in the demo. I nothing like Nova imo but it's so much better. You just pop 2 of those in the middle of a group of monsters and watch the itchy-bithy spiders consumes them alive!
It is a good damage over time spells that weakens the enemies and helps your puppies/wallozombies/swarms finish the job.

I think the WD is going to be the char that is all about damage over time. He is going to have multiple sources of damage going at one time. The wizard is going to spam one high damage spell while the WD is going to use 3-4 and to achieve the same kill rate. How fast can you click?

A good assessment. However, don't forget his direct damage fire attacks. I imagine that the Witch Doctor would have at least one or two really damaging attacks.

Yea the Spirit "tree" is all about direct damage, and the Plague "tree" is all about DoT and AoE as the Gamespy review tells us
