The High Heavens Theory.... (Spoilers!)

So.... I'm pretty sure we all know Imperius is going to be in the game. Most likely to destroy Sanctuary. But here's were my theory kicks in.... What if The Burning Hells want Imperius away from the High Heavens...... The eternal conflict has gone on since the beginning with both oppsing forces equally matched. That's Why Tyrael has helped Sanctuary in the past. That's why the Burning Hells want to enslave the world..... It's all there to end the eternal conflict. What if this game is setting up for the tides to change.... What if the Burning Hells (pick your choice of character.... lord of LIES..... lord of Sins..... all master deceivers...) want Imperius to leave the High Heavens and take care of Tyrael...... that'd lead some of the major forces out of the battle..... but what if the hero (player) was used to do that?!..... Diablo 3 has been stated as ending a trilogy.... and we all know that it won't end good....

I'm just thinking and making this up as I go, but don't you think Inarius would be a great character to see in this game.... somewhere in the manual it states that once Inarius was taken to the burning Hells his eye lids were ripped out, his wings torn off, barbed wires bending his body to shreds.... and he is imprisoned in a room of mirrors...... he's always wanted to destroy sanctuary. Even in the books he's more Insane than anything else. I'm sure, if given the chance by his savior (mephisto is capturer.... irony if you've read the books) would unleash this rabbid dog to take care of Sanctuary....... now.... look at it. Imperius is obviously there in the game..... but Inarius would be great! fun! Weeee!!!!! That'd let all the forces of the Burning Hells deal with the High Heavens.....

Overall this is a spazzed topic of pure speculation and I'm glad to here any positive/negative comments! Let me know!

Re: The High Heavens Theory.... (Spoilers!)

I only saw this post now or else I would have posted earlier...

This was way back in DI lore and may become very relevant if what you say comes to be... And I quote:

"Azmodan believed that with the Three set loose upon humanity, the Angels would be forced to turn their focus upon on the mortal plane - thus leaving the Gates of Heaven abandoned and defenseless" http://www.blizzplanet.com/?action=C...wpage&pid=358/

As per usual a lot falls in place with what you are suggesting...I am pretty confident that we will get to do with more than a few Angels in DIII.

As to some of your other comments: I think that Inarius will be a loose cannon, someone that might get in the way of both heaven and hell, at the same time... Would be cool if the forces of both good and evil need to work together in stopping him doing something...

Well that’s what I would do if I had anything to do with the lore... Also, I think the story might turn from Heaven vs. Hell into more fragments... In hell, Traitors vs. Brothers, in Heaven, those for and against Sanctuary. With some of the fractions working with “the other side” to advance their cause... With everything culminating in the mortal world.

I hope that your short story is well underway and that we get to share in it soon...

Or you can say that the "factionalism" might just be a ruse... They might be playing wounded after a civil war where they are actually just feinting to get Heaven's attention diverted... Hard to think that Azmodan being a lesser evil will be so cunning...

Really... reading this I would not be surprised if Heaven falls.
Heaven go to sanctuary->Hell unleashes a huge attack on Heaven->Defenses are breached->Heaven is defeated

Interesting

To my knowledge, anything that can be thought out by a million people during a brainstorm, is already known by even the lesser of angels and demons.

At least in D&D, all angels and demons with names are supra-geniuses; More intelligent than regular humans CAN be.
Which again reminds me of how silly it is when we can see through their plots, because they were written by humans.
