Bashiok on shield skellies and crits

Earlier today Bashiok wrote 2 responses in a "D3-is-too-much-WoWish" whine thread on the official forums. I was suprised by this because the thread became a flame war long before his respones. That, I think, led to it's ultimate deletion.

Unfortunately after opening the page of the thread I went to see a movie and when I came back the theard was gone. Maybe someone saved or saw this post before it disappeared because I remember Bashiok saying something like "I don't believe I and giving this info on this kind of post...". I think there was some new info on the shield skeletons in there.

Please don't feed the trolls.

The glow on the shields of Skeletal Shieldmen (http://www.blizzard.com/diablo3/medi...enshots.xml#11) actually serves a couple purposes. First it's an easy and quick way to identify them from other skeletons, that's a given, but the second function is that it's actually a status indicator. Obviously as you hit them they'll block the hits with their shield, but they can only block so much damage. As they block damage the glow dims. It's a useful tool that visually indicates how close their shields are to breaking.

My biggest gripe is having to reply to this particular thread to get that information out.

Did they not notice the Paladin's glowing shield when he uses Holy Shield?

I swear, half these whiners have never played a Diablo game before. I'm convinced.

I have no idea what those foreign abbreviations mean, remember I don't play on Battle.net, so I also don't know what the flavor of the month "builds" are that fly around online. :P

I just play solo. With a shield.

I think that's a very neat little feature, and GJ on saving the post.

Does anyone else see themselves playing their first Ranger and burning dozens of arrows against a pack of skeletal shieldmen, just to watch their shields slowly diminish in glow as their tiny flame of unlife draws ever closer to flickering out?
