Fiery Runes Series One - Diablo - Reflections of Hellfire

: S I Z E S :

1920x1200 - 1680x1050 - 1600x1200 - 1280x1024 - 1024x768

“Diablo – Reflections of Hellfire” is my longest time spent wall to date. I spent on average 5 hrs a night just about every night on this image. I started work on this wall shortly before I finished Belial, and I knew it would be a good wall. I just didn’t know at the time how good or bad the Belial wall would have been taken. This wall I took like 12+ screenshots of the cinematic of where he pops out and roars. I watched and researched that part of the video so much the repeating parts of the music drive me insane still...

I also warped some of the screenshots till I could match it up with what I could see from the cinematic, and mirror flipped the image, I took so many parts from so many screens to make this guys face match as best as I could I wished I could have recorded how I made this, I did so much work on it. The Female Witchdoctor and Tyreal walls, the amount of time I took on them is like one days worth of work compared to this wall...

I made sure I did the best I could to make this wall as accurate as I could possibly do. I added and changed and tweaked this image over 7 times, because I found more and more inaccuracies. From what I can see from the wall art I can guess it is about 90-95% as accurate as I can make him. The other Diablo games had a headshot, thought I could add my take with this one. I know there will be better ones later but to be honest this turned out better than I ever expected.

I’m sorry if this image seems somewhat blurry. It could have been far worse, because I did make the image 3 times larger than the 1920x1200 wall. My comp almost died and crashed on me while I was tweaking this.

Please I hope you enjoy this wall, because to me it is the best wall in the series because I put so much time into it, I worked my butt off on this one. I wanted to make up for the Belial wall for one. Any comments, questions anything please let me know.

Also one last thing; this wall marks the end of Fiery Runes Series One, I will make a few non fiery runes walls in the coming weeks, then I will start Series Two, hope you guys will be looking forward to it. The runes will still be the same if you want to know, I just want to break up my walls in intervals of 12 as it is a series. I could make more per series but a dozen walls per series sounds the best to me.

With that I will see you all next week!

Re: Fiery Runes Series One - Diablo - Reflections of Hellfire

First off, thank you for this wonderful work I really enjoy it!

However, I have a question, where did you take this Diablo from? Are we talking about the same cinematic teaser trailer? I thought the one you worked on earlier, the "Belial", was the one from the cinematic teaser. And this Diablo wallpaper have a lot of similarities with the demon in the trailer. I call this a demon because I'm pretty sure it's not the new Diablo, the art style would've changed too much and it's kinda odd to reveal the final boss's look in a cinematic trailer (and I also don't believe that we will see Diablo in DIII but that another topic :P). So, where did you pick Belial and Diablo from?

Anyways, thanks alot for your work and keep up your good job! You are very talented.

Many thanks for the post. Believe it or not the Belial, and Diablo walls were from the same cinematic demon, just the belial wall was of the darker shaded side of diablo. Here let me show you what i mean:

If you grab this area of the diablo demon pic from this screen and flip it you get Smiling Belial, and the opposite side with the more orange and red tones is Diablo. reason i made this latest wall Diablo, was because it was confirmed he was diablo.

Also with the diablo side since the lighter side was turned away from us i had to stretch it and warp it to match the left side better, and then i started building his face with multiple images and screens, the demons symbol on his head was the only thing besides his mouth i had the most difficulty TRYING to match.

Here was my first version of diablo shortly before i finished belial:

Notice the changes the mouth, the head symbol, the nostrils, and the eyes. I revised this bum 7 times, dunno what else to say really there lol.

Hope that helps answer your question, let me know what you think!

HK

Well this is sweet I did know that it was confirmed that Diablo was back! And good job working on littles details like nostrils... I would've never noticed that those were reworked. It's a nice thing to have someone create those wallpaper so we cannot limit ourselves to a choice of 4 or 5 Blizz's wallpapers

Thanks for the reply, yeah in my eyes the diii.net D3 Wallpaper Gallery to my knowledge is the biggest wall gallery for d3 at this time, just hope more and more people start putting their ideas in, like VioletJoker and Phoenix995 did this week, after i posted my tyrael concept wall.
