Anti Paladin Class

No. Not an Anti-Paladin. I'm talking about Anti Paladin which is the opposite of a holy warrior. He is based on a unholy warrior that has the abillity to use Unholy bolts and darker variants of the original abillities.

I wouldn't call him Evil just becuase he is opposite. Just as the Assassin he would be fighting for money and fame and ignore the fact that the world is doomed.

Pretty much like a Antagonist.

So kind of like a Blackguard? A "Paladin" that worships a darker power? That sounds pretty cool.

But wouldn't he kind of have to be evil? It would be hard to create a Blackguard without calling him evil (although, Necromancers aren't evil, right?).

Necromancers are neutral. They are balanced with the undead and seek to claim order in our worlds. But their reputation makes people think or claim that they are evil.

And since Assassins fight for gold that would allso be evil but they do have a heart and fight for what they believe in.

If you want to use the DnD outlook on alignment, I guess you could say the class could be "chaotic neutral". I think that was it anyway....where it's like Robin Hood status. You're causing trouble by stealing but in turn are giving it to the poor. You're not really doing good but not really evil either.

Or perhaps it's more along the lines of using new found dark powers that are abound in the world to combat the very evil that created those powers?

I can kind of see it both ways and perhaps with a combination of that.

Assassins didn't fight for gold. They were part of a secret order which hunted down and killed Mages.

I like the idea of expanding from the cliche that all the PCs in the game are heroes fighting to rid evil...

How about some people who realise that the minions of Hell would destroy the world, and they rather like the setup they've got there and will fight to keep it like that...

We need something in the middle that doesn't care about anything but what riches exists in the world.
