Tyrael: Defeated by Imperius?

In the revealed concept art, shown in the link below, it is believed that this is Tyrael confronting the rogue archangel Imperius. Now, I've been digging through the cinematic trailer for the clearest frame for any hidden info, and I came across something rather interesting. Take a look for yourself at an outline I did compared to the base image. Also, note the blue aura at the edge of the flames. (No, it isn't blue fire. It holds the same appearance as the blue aura shown in Destruction's End.)

To me, it appears as though there is an angelic figure in that fireball, and I can't help but feel that it's holding a bit of a staggered pose. Does this mean that Imperius crushed one of the only ones preventing him from purging Sanctuary? Or perhaps... is that Imperius himself?

With that it appears more like he's arched into descent, which would mark willing movement and mean it's Imperius, or perhaps Tyrael coming to give the warning.

Nah - it looks more like Richard in your outline

Seriously though - it certainly does bear a resemblance to our angelic "friend"...

Re: Tyrael: Defeated by Imperius?

Well it most definately IS an angel - the second last frame in that gif shows a body and the curve of wings.

This entire thing makes me think back to the last Harry Potter book. There was wild speculation, sites with rumors and thoughts and plot summaries and whatnot. Anything was possible and we were all SURE there woul dbe surprises.

And then, just as was perfectly obvious to anybody not overthinking it:
1) Snape turned ok
2) A secondary character that nobody gave a crap about died
3) Harry beats voldemort
4) Harry marries Ginny (or whatever her name is)

So, here is a loose summary of the D3 plot:
1) Tyreal falls from heaven with a warning of humanity's impending doom
2) Hell is invading!
3) OMFG the angels aren't exactly on our side either - BETRAYAL
4) Let's go to heaven and fight there, that'd be cool and nobody would see that coming!!!

Re: Tyrael: Defeated by Imperius?

Very interesting! As I posted on my other thread, notice that sentence on diablo3.com's main page :

Quote:
When Deckard Cain returns to the ruins of Tristram Cathedral seeking clues to defeat new stirrings of evil, a fiery harbinger of doom falls from the heavens, striking the very ground where Diablo once entered the world.
It says from heavens, another fact to prove that it's an angel. And right after, in the cinematic, you see it falling on a cathedral (probably Tristram's). That how the story begins!

I'm so excited to see the plot. I can only guess that it starts with Tyrael coming down to warn us (listen to what is said exactly in the cinematic trailer to understand what I say here). Or it's another archangel to fight the demons in the cathedral?

I'M TIRED OF GUESSING I WANT TO KNOW! (will have to wait 2 years... BOO!)

Duh, that's why I previously stated the whole "shpiel" about it being obvious.
