They both have this darkness surrounding it, almost a cloud of corruption. They both have twin spires with a very large mountain behind them, amidst a mountain range just like Ureh in the book.
So my speculation is that you enter Ureh, and travel through the top to enter the High Heavens in Diablo III. =D

It came up later in the thread where one poster said that it is impossible as the city was destroyed...but really, it wasn't destroyed, simply Diablo's "version", the tainted form of the city was once the gems were smashed, the barrier was breached and the residents all died off.
So, what do you guys think? I may be just grasping at straws here.
I've read a lot of rumors about the whole Heaven questing theory, and I'm beginning to believe that D3 might actually be (partly) based in Heaven. Is it just me - or does that look like the same spire that the two guards are watching the "hellish rift" in the cinematic trailer?
I personally think that the two guards are looking at the Arreat Crater, which means they'd be in old Harrogath or Bastion's Keep. I know Harrogath isn't on the map, since it's presumably been somehow destroyed, but we don't know what timeframe the images in the cinematic are from. It might be from just a few years after D2.
It seems that these books are a treasure trove for speculation, since so much of the lore is fleshed out. I see no reason to doubt that this Ureh might harbour a gateway to the Heavens.
