Cryptic music & tomatoes

As Blizzard continues to grow as a company, so do their revenues and expense accounts - thus a high bankroll to produce and maintain their games.

The reason i bring this up is because most, if not all, in-game music throughout their games are now completely orchestrated. Not to say i want to hear a completely digital synthesized soundtrack, but do you recall the great cryptic sounds in Diablo 1?

To hear them again, here's the various music segments: Intro Tristram Dungeon Catacombs Caves Hell

In my opinion, all of them scream dark, evil, sinister, bizarre, mysterious, twisted, death, torture (especially in the caves with the agonizing squeal in the background) etc. and didn't require a huge budget to produce them. I love orchestrated music, but i'm also a huge fan of Matt's work in the original Diablo.

Let's face it - music is a HUGE part of what makes a game's initial feel. It's the little things, like having panic-induced breathing sounds in the background once again in the caves, that make a big difference in feel.

Imagine is the Tristram town music had an upbeat theme to it. . .

Nevertheless, Just speculating what I hope to see in the dungeons throughout Diablo 3. The music on the website sounds great so far, I'd just like to see them add some of the little things as mentioned above. (listen to the caves)

And of course - for the love of Diablo . . . . change the attack sounds to something realistic - and NOT identical to a tomato being squished like the big gameplay preview we have seen.
