With DIII on the horizon Blizzard had mention they are going to change, and create a new Battlenet system. If that is the case will we have to create new Battlenet accounts for the new system and DIII or will we be able to use our current accounts?
I don't like the idea of Pay 2 Play and never have. BUT I would be willing to pay if in return we receive some wonderful benefits. If Blizzard is giving Diablo 3 continual support, staying ahead of duping/hacking, releasing new content to expand the world, and so on I suppose I can handle paying.
Also, evidently battle.net is supposed to be more in the foreground than in the background of the game, whatever that means, but it sounds like it could be cool.
And one of the things they've been talking about a lot for both D3 and SC2 is a improved matchmaking system which I'm sure would be much appreciated.
As long as they deliver something of quality I am very happy to pay for it.
For example. The most disappointing title in years "Hellgate:London" had this little nugget of a marketing twist, where you could only play a HC character as a subscriber. Now, that is a complete rip-off and made me actually stop playing the game, that is how much it put me off.
Let's hope, Blizzard does not introduce something like "subscriber-only-set-items" !
But hey, if paying for BN keeps out all the cheats, im up for it

They have changed that now, you only need a level 20 character to unlock hardcore mode, subscriber or not.

I think it could include MMO type stuff. EG i believe they have said the new system could/would support things like guilds, so you may have a guild channel you can type to even when your in game, in game friends lists etc.
I am hearing some rumors out in the mix that they might start charging for bnet service?
Thoughts?

Those rumors are about a part of the service that requires a fee. The tournament part. Normal play over the new battlenet service will still be completely free.
And this rumor was never in any way confirmed by a Blizzard representative. Once it was said that they were thinking about it, that doens't mean it will happen.
We will see how it goes with StarCraft2.
