Diablo books

Hio

I was thinking about reading through the Diablo books again. Haven't read them all, but I've borrowed some from a friend earlier. I was just wondering if someone could list them in their rightfull order, so I know which one to start with. I don't know if they're chronological, but that would be most logical (rhymes), so if anyone knows the order, please let me know

Regards

Re: Diablo books

Taken straight from the Wikipedia:

* Birthright (2006)
* Scales of the Serpent (2007)
* The Veiled Prophet (Sept 2007)

I was unaware of these books, and the fact that they are considered canonical. Better find out what happened for the purposes of more efficient speculation.

Re: Diablo books

The list by Richard Knaak appears to be:

1. Diablo series
1. Legacy of Blood (2001), ISBN 0-671-04155-X
2. Kingdom of Shadow (2002), ISBN 0-7434-2692-4
3. Moon of the Spider (2006), ISBN 0-7434-7132-6
2. The Sin War series
1. Birthright (2006)
2. Scales of the Serpent (2007)
3. The Veiled Prophet (2007)

I don't think the first three form a single unit, though.

Re: Diablo books

Is the author involved with Blizzard in any way? I mean, did Blizzard agree with the stories in the books or do they contain "facts" that are not real in the diablo universe which Blizzard created?

All books based on Blizzard IP get assistance by Blizzard.

The Sin War trilogy is an account of the events of the Sin War, written with close assistance by Chris Metzen (Blizzard Lore Master) and so they are considered canon material for the world.

I am not entirely sure how Blizzard determine whether a book becomes canon or not, my experience is mostly with Forgotten Realms D&D novels, where almost without fail the events depicted in the books are canon.

Re: Diablo books

I'm not going to start a new thread, but maybe someone who has read the books can answer...

From a competing forum, I noticed mention of an angel named Imperius, who seems to think Inarius is a renegade, and Sanctuary should be destroyed. A lot of speculation has suggested such a character might be introduced. Is Imperius an option? I know nothing about him, having not read the books.

I'm starting to think I should just read those books now. Then again, I've started playing D2 again, so no time!
