Etheral Items

I would like to see a return and general expansion of the idea of ethereal items... for example some kind of device that makes an item into an ethereal, or an item that removes this quality... perhaps even expanding the idea into the following:

* Ethereal Items of Light

* Ethereal Items of Shadow

For example, Tyreals sword in DII could be considered a Ethereal Item of Light...

Re: Etheral Items

I don't really see the need for ethereal items and personally found it a little ridiculous that they didn't lose durability while being worn by your Merc in DII. After all, these friendly sidekicks take a beating almost constantly - if anything, their gear should lose durability much faster than yours...

Re: Etheral Items

I personally found it very dissatisfying when I found something like a HoZ on the ground, then when I picked it up it was ethereal >.<

Re: Etheral Items

The ethereal property is overpowered in D2 for endgame melee, other than grief very few non eth physical damage weapons can hope to compare to a zodded or self-rep eth, but I hope it stays in weakened form with similar drop rate.

Re: Etheral Items

Ethereal was only overpowered if the person knew what to do with it. On the other hand....ethereal was merely annoying for those that didn't know how to use them. Just like every other item in D2.
