Last thread for now since I am busting with excitement and new questions to talk about that I have been creating too many..
but anyway, Whirlwind is back in, so what else? I think this means that Frozen Orb is defintely going to make another appearance, but I feel like it is going to be significantly nerfed!
Also Zombie wall sounds cool, like a damaging bone wall...
I also think that Multishot will be back for zons! If they keep these classes :-D
The two I can think of off the top of my head that were in both Diablo 1 and Diablo 2 were Hydra (think it was called Guardian in Diablo 1 though) and Chain Lightning.
CL seems like it would fit in well with their taking down mobs of enemies theme.
Zombie wall was really cool! How about locust swarm? That's gonna be excellent.
I hope they have some of the same Pally skills along with some new ones. Conviction and Vengeance come to mind as nice to haves.
Agreed that Zombie wall looks cool...but the locust swarm Im not so excited by. Seems like its just Chain lighthing with a different animation effect.
Heres to hoping frozen Orb is still around! I hope some sort of CE is available...and not just buy killing his own summons. It'd be too much work to have to summon and then kill, I want a spammable skill that causes a chain reaction
Oh, and obviously one of the leap attacks is back.
Just wathced the ingame video and so far I think I can point out these:
Barbarian:
1. An attack similar to WoW's Cleave
2. A splash damage Leap Attack
3. A powerful d2-style Whirlwind attack
4. A Charge-like attack that goes through enemies.
5. An attack releasing a wc3 like Shockwave
6. A single target Bash with huge knockback.
7. Some Warcry, dunno what it does...
Witch Doctor
1. Ability to Raise Zombies
2. Some green cloud, zombie-buff?
3. A cool looking Fire Bomb
4. A flesh-eating Zombie Wall
5. Some offensive Locusts attack.
can't remember what else, and ofc I have no attacks what the attacks are really called and if the description I made is somewhat accurate.
I don't care as long as there are many more skills per class than in D2.
I mean, look at the sorc cold skill tree: 3 of the 10 skills are the same concepts of cold armor. These are almost purely for defense so they don't really count as a main punch for your sorc. Then there's cold mastery which is passive and doesn't actually do anything on the screen. Then there's lev 1 ice bolt which is just there to be quickly made obsolete so no one is going to use that as their main punch either. So that leaves 5 skills to use. Five. There are thousands of cold sorc's out there and they are given the choice between five spells to use. It's as though Blizzard gave us no choice but to have cookie cutters buils.
Then we have paladins who have 2 damn pages of auras, when you can only use one of them at a time. So offensive skills, shield-related skills and some spells are all crammed into a petty 10 skill tree system. So that's 3 of each plus one extra to make 10 skills. 3-4 skills to chose from? Come on!!! Give us some options!!!
I demand options. They've got to give us a wide selection of skills/spells. I don't want there to be this, "Well I have 5 cold skills to chose from and blizzard does the most damage, so... ..."
jakotaco- I believe they said in the commentary that the witch doctor just did locus swarm to the minions, so there was no other pre-buff that gave them extra damage...im wondering what else you can summon on the later levels...im thinking probably something larger that can tank like the druid's bear or the zon's valk
for skills:
-i think they are gonna bring back the pally or someone similar to give auras to parties(might, fanact, conviction, blessed, meditation)
-that firebomb thing looks like a badass fireblast by the way
-multi shot or a strafe attack for range
It was pretty cool to see WW back. Is anyone else wondering what teleport might be like in DiabloIII ? In the past it was used to skip large portions of the map...hmm.
