Uber issues

Probably more than 80% of ppl that will see this are going to "LMAO n00b!" or something like that, but here we go:

I started this thread related to Uber Tristram because I wasn't especially satisfied with what I found on the forum and on the internet.

First I would like to say that I'm a normal player. I just re-started to play a couple of months ago, and I started from scratch. I don't play 24/7... this would be my "definition of normal".

Now about the Ubers and Uber Tristram. I read a lot about the quest and everything, and that you need the keys and all that, so in theory I know how to get there even if I haven't found any keys yet (I haven't looked for them either).

So my first question would be:
Is it really unheard of to play "self-found" and be able to finish the game (PvM) and do Uber Tristram (PvU)? I say this because from reading guides and seeing videos in youtube it seems that Enigma, CTA, and Death are the most common (if not the only) options to use in Uber Tristram. Also you need Anni, and Pally torch (ironic, isn't it?).
Now if you play self-found (cause you just started) there's very slim chance to get any of Mal, Ist, Ohm, Jah, Ber, Hel, Vex, or Gul. Not to mention all of them so you can make those rwords. Also probably no anni and definetly no Torch.

Apparently the most popular class to do Uber tristram is Smiter, but they seem to require BO and Teleport (which really really troubles me)

I checked the paladin guide for Uber tristram, and it seemed that I would never be able to follow it. So, is there any other guide with more "reasonable" equipment (likely to be found) requirements that can possibly do the ubers?

I know another alternative would be partying, but the stakes are higher if there are more ppl involved (only one toch drop...)

Thanks in advance!

Re: Uber issues

1) No ubers in Single Player without mods which we can't discuss on this forum.

2) All you would need in order to uber is CB and Life Tap.

3) The stakes aren't high. Unlike with battle.net'ers, we don't all rush to pick up teh godly itamz when they drop.

Re: Uber issues

I'm playin Ladder, no SP, so that's no issue.
Some CB and a life tap wand are easy to come by.

your #3: who is "WE"?

I've been in some Baal runs on NM and it take less than a sec for the baal drop to be picked up by the other players. I only end up picking gold:undecided:

Edit: Oh and thanks for answering and taking me seriously.

Re: Uber issues

If you play on battle.net, then yes. That is the experience you should expect to have. Most people use [mod which I can't name] which automatically picks up items right after they drop.

By we, I mean the rest of the players of the Single Player Forum (You posted in the Single Player Forum, after all. =P). From my multiplayer experience, the drops get rotated and therefore usually end up staying on the ground for a while.

It's going to be very tough to solo them though. WATCH OUT FOR THE CONVICTION.

Re: Uber issues

Sorry, for posting in SP forum, I guess I missed that
Edit: I went to Strategy forum, then MP forum and it took me to SP -> MP forum. Thi was what I missed.

As for conviction... I know it's hard especially for non paladin class. Well I guess you have encouraged me a bit, so thanks! I might try to get the keys once I reach Nihlatak. (I'm still in act 4 )

Edit: bad choice to post here. Now I found the proper place to post, what should I do?

Re: Uber issues

Wait (or rather ask) for a mod to transfer the thread. Posting the same topic in several places is against the forum rules.

On topic: From what I've gathered, the ubers are quiet manageable with even pretty lousy gear. All you need is a Smite Paladin with Life Tap (from Dracul's Grasp gloves, traded for a few Pgems), big resistances (say, from a 4-Pdiamonded paladin shield) and Crushing Blow (look for Guillaume's Face helm, Gore Rider Boots and some weapons, all can be very cheap).

Re: Uber issues

There's a 1pt Uber smiter thread in the Pally stickies. Where do you want the thread moved to?

I found this thread to address many of may questions:
http://forums.diabloii.net/showthrea...42#post6427742

It is in the newcomer forum. I should have posted there... On the same thread I got the link to the 1pt Uber smiter guide which was very helpful.

I'd say closer to 99%, rather than 80 >

Still, glad you found your answer.
