Interest in an Ironman League

Ironman tournaments are tournaments where a group of 8 people party up and level up to 9 without returning to town. Upon reaching level 9, you return to town (without buying or repairing anything) and engage in a huge free for all battle royale!

It is truly the ultimate contest of skill in PvP and Drop Hoarding. It... is... IRONMAN!

I am trying to figure out how interested people would be in a league revolving around ironman games. Every game would be scored and the leader in points at the end of the month would receive prizes (most likely from an entry fee required to enter the tournament, although this may be excluded from the first month)

Some basic ideas we have planned out:

- Scoring will be done by points. 1st place in a game gets 7, 2nd gets 6 and so on down the list.
- We are thinking of extending this past one month per stash if there is enough interest. First month would involve everyone and go up to level 9 and the top half of the participants would move on to month two. The second month would go up to level 9 as well, but only the top 8 participants move on. The third and final month would go up to either 9/15/21 as voted on by the final round of players.
- Entry fee would most likely be Pgems or some sort of item that isn't completely useless.
- Maybe throw the idea around of certain games being "specialty" games with special rules such as: all players must be a certain class, players may gamble equipment when they get to level 9, etc.

Reply with words about how awesome this would be and how much you would love to take part in it

I would very much be ingame. The only downside I can see is that you'd have to plan timezones etc... carefully for the participants (eight players per game, set time). VLLD ftw! :sunny:

edit: btw is this hardcore mode? And how is the 1st place measured (since it's FFA)? By number of kills?

That is why there would be multiple hosts.

Whoever could host would put up a game and then whoever was around would join into it.

That part of it probably needs more planning, but once we get around that it will be awesome.

I like the idea, however, the last iron man I played, it wasn't to level 9, but to Andariels death - everyone finishes act 1 in a mass game and takes that portal, heading straight out to town again. I think it allows for the opening up of slightly more strategy - *Shrug*. I would be in, though, sounds like fun either way.

Yes, HC.

1st place is measured by who dies last.

We could try that for one of the specialty things, maybe.

The idea had crept into my head recently but didn't mention it. I'd be interested.
