Ideas for Diablo3 Character Classes & Skills

In the process of trying to imagine how Diablo 3 will look like, it is imminent for most of us to wonder what kind of new character classes will be introduced in the game.

Now I figured this topic would have been discussed before... so I used the search bar and all I could find was this thread posted in 2004:http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=142248
Here's an interesting character suggestion (a Golem): http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=337260

Hopefully this topic hasn't been exhausted by now.

Also worth keeping in mind, before letting your ideas run wild, is to try and keep this within the established D2 mythos without including too diverse elements like elves, dwarves and orcs.

Here's my pick:
I think the coolest possible character ever, hands down, would be to be
Tyreal... Glowing white... a total attention grabber like when a character glows from wearing a complete set. (I love his voice, makes me tremor at the sound of it).
His special skill would be to use his long white 'ropes' as whips. Of course their can only be one Tyreal so instead I'd recommend a type of angelic character.
others include:
-Gargoyle
-phantom
-magician (illusionist)
-alchemist
-There's fire,water,lighting... but what about force fields.. like the force within... in other words a Jedi.

Attacks:
There needs to be more jumping or flying skills. I love the Barb's leap skills. What if it could tremble/stomp the ground causing damage within a 4 yard radius.
Supersize... like the Avatar hero skill in Warcraft3...
The ability to cloak if standing still... or when moving but only for so long as energy depletes.

i like ur thoughts but as with the other games the main chrs i think should b flesh and blood as well as human as we are talking about an extention of the sin war as it is a war for the souls of man kind. your cloaking idea would imho b more of an upgrade 2 the assassins fade ability that would cause it to act like the pallys auras like prayr with possably benifits to party members but this would b a combination of the 2 skills fade and cloak of shadow which is used to blind ur enimies. the main problem with this iswith the chr literly dissapearing in party play as to use sumthing like this she would need 2 b transparent to herself 4 the player 2 see her (invisable to other chr?) and as if a monster cant see her she shuld b able to hit them beter (lower defence of enimy as with cloak of shdaow?)

in the games so far u have has melee and caster chrs but each has had the option of a few skills 2 be their opposite

sorc: enchant energyshield
barb:thrown wep mastery
zon :spear
pally: auras and hammers
druid: were
sin: martial arts and traps

making a devine caster such as a religious munk might b more possable than your angelic chr bcause of the inherant power being one of heavens warriors would emply

u would need an archer class such as the zon as the first came had the rogue

we have had the melee chrs of the paladin, barbarian, and warrior alrdy what new one should b made? pally fits the clasic whight knight persona, warrior the pure fighter, and who dosnt know about a rageing barbarian?

4 casters we have fire ice and light sorcs, wind druids, spirit necros
taking the mythoas of casters from realifr earth fire wind and water and spirit
(each represented in the pentagram as a point of the star)

2 take the sins place would u make a version of a thief? stealthy yes but usualy not that strong in a fight a good fighting thief was hired 4 assassinations

aclass that uses tinker toys to cause dmg is a trap assassin

force fields are telekeneasis anf mana shield yes this branch of magic could b further developed but they exist alrdy

psuchic mind tricks (jedi mind trick) mind blast and psychic hammer (force push)

many of these things have been coverd alrdy re doing them would only b either replaceing some skills on the possable tree adding them all of which would basicaly result in revamping the existing game like u woulf revamp a chr

this is all imho many things can b changed if they ever make a d3 many things tho sum players will hate to lose as well

not to mention that the exile of the 3 prime eivls was staged so that they could get their hands on the soul stones and corrupt the world of santuary's world stone which has been distroyed by tyreal

That's quite overpowered. Can you imagine an auradin with Lightning Mastery? How about a Foher with Lightning Mastery? Or a paladin with Dodge, Avoid and Evade? Oh wait, a Smiter with Energy Shield. Or an Assassin with both Claw Block AND Bone armor? Oh wait, let's make BvCs with Warmth?

This is actually one of the coolest things about GW. You can pick a main class and a support class. I think it works pretty well, but would need more limits in d2. This really wouldn't be hard to emulate.

As for the angelic character, I'm all for it. After all, we needed Tyreals help before. What if humans suddenly needed more of heaven's help. Logic of most stories do after all lead to escalation of difficulty/threat. This could be a very interesting character, as long as it's balanced. Besides, angels are generally considered to be the closest thing to human without actually being human. You could even offer the choice of a dark or light angel, both of which are trying to prevent a full scale war which would lead to an inbalance of power (i.e. regardless of choice you would be on the same side). I also believe gender should become a choice in D3 as it is in GW.

Maybe we'll see it in the next 10 years.

I want a necro character that can summon skeleton/mages-->wraiths--->death knights--->bone dragons and you can have less of each minion but they are more powerful than the previous one hehe. Wraiths in the army allows life and mana leech from targets that they attack and death knights are elite undead calvary that have crushing blow and chance to do 2x damage :P Abolish revives maybe? Similiar style with Druids but they have goody pets like wolves, bears, sabre tooth tigers, and green dragons lol

How about a realm-only character, the Noob.

Some skills include: Cry, Spam, Cry More, Annoy, Run into monsters and die, and Item Beg.

I can see 99% of all bnet choosing this class for its uber godly skills. Someone contact Blizzard and forward this idea, post haste!

the musketeer

I haven’t been dealing with Diablo 1&2 for a while some years ago and this is my first post.
Well there is something I would like to see Diablo 3 would be nice if it to part in a late renaissance time more and less.

A character I would like to see is the musketeer.
Good at fighting with light swords cords etc fast attack. He can also use a musket deadly at close rage but weaker on medium and nerly hoples at long.

I know that the term musketeer did not exist in the renaissance time but this is Dialbo3 mind you.

Not sure yet what skills they cud have but was thinking about 3 or more allied multi players
Making a stand in a phalanx formation. Getting some defense bonus.

Skills!
Fast attack-
Double shot-
Dodge blow-
Disarm-
Triple slash-
