Glitched shields??

How does one go about glitching a shield?
Is it taboo to do so?

Also whats the best choice of shield to put exile in for a smiter?

Find a good etheral shield without sockets. Put in cube and hope for 4 sockets.

1 Tal Rune + 1 Thul Rune + 1 Perfect Topaz + Normal Body Armor = Socketed Body Armor of same type

By normal, arreat summit means non superior...You can use normal, exceptional and elite items as long as they aren't of the superior quality.

No one said anything about upping.

Anyway. That recipe will work on armor, sheilds, helms, and weapons that are nonsuperior, and not low quality/cracked/etc ... otherwise known as 'normal' items. Normal quality.

What a 'glitched' sheild is (this works for helms and armor as well, of course) is a normal, ethereal sheild that's been socketed using this method. Due to a bug in the game code, the ethereal defense bonus gets applied a second time (acts on the total modified defense, not base) - so instead of getting +50% defense for it being ethereal, you get +125%
