The Medic, Fun Build

Bored with my Hammerdin, I decided to follow madonion's guide to the cleric/medic. He basically solo'd 15 Trist runs with 8 players starting at level 6, ending at 15. Not only did Holy Bolt kill all the skeletons and Griswold, but one friendly Holy Bolt healed any party member, and they ALWAYS give a very friendly thank you for healing them.

It's tough sometimes to aim your Holy Bolt, especially with summon necros in the game. Also, sometimes you try to heal someone, but because they are at low health they run around frantically and you can't quite reach them.

Can't wait for tomb runs.

Was wondering if you can help finalize my build, so I don't mess him up, and also give me some advice for leveling/playing the medic.

20 Holy Bolt
20 Prayer
20 Blessed Hammer (Synergy)
20 FoH (Synergy and 2nd skill)
1 Cleansing
Rest into Holy Shield

Shako (Um'ed)
Wizardspike (12 Fire Resist Jewel)
Templar Coat (Sol)
Spirit Shield (+35 resists base, 35 fcr)
22 PDR Amulet
4 PDR Gloves/Boots/Belt
Ravenfrost
Nature's Peace

This build gives 90 resists in Hell, max block, 52 PDR, 75 fcr, and +5 skills.

Question: If my merc has an Insight runeword, will having Meditation from that staff trigger my passive Prayer? Otherwise I'll put a point into meditation.

good job. i love the cleric. my personal favorite of all builds/classes in diablo ii. i think you've got everything. i'm remaking mine, building from ground up. but of course, being me, i accidentally put 1 point into might. lol, should've stuck with my old build. but too late. one point won't hurt.

clerics are awesome. except i kept hitting my friend's oak sage. i guess i need to brush up on my healing skills.

have fun with the cleric build. hope to see you around. put a point into meditation too. with that, you'll be a favorite of most caster builds. once you get there, i mean.

and yes, tomb runs are so easy with this build....

No.

Aside from that, clerics are lots of fun. You will struggle to kill anything that is a demon however so give thought to either playing only in parties or pumping light dmg.

In that case, I'll have Insight on switch.

Two of my friends have made clerics. I've seen one of them in action, and they seem like they're having a good time, heh.

Great party character IMO.
