It's probably worth saying that for the Angelic Set with at least 3 (different) pieces, you get 50% EACH from the rings, giving 100% MF with (for example) the armor, the amulet and 2 rings. I find that to be a good combination for MFing while leveling, since it gives great fire resistance, +1 skill at a low level, 100%MF, +115 life with +12 replenishment, a big AR bonus, useful defence and mana bonuses and +dex as well. For a melee character who gets most of the damage from an elemental attack (like Holy Shock, Holy Freeze or an enchant) the full set with both rings is great as you also get a fast weapon to deliver the elemental attack, another 40% MF, half freeze duration and +25 resist all. It's one of my favorite ways of twinking starting characters and also it's a good way of MFing as well.

The point is that you aren't going to get MF from any armor really (the only other way of having armor impove MF is basically Tancred's Spine + Amulet, which doesn't have the nice additional bonuses that the Angelic partial set does) so if you think about it as getting 100% MF, +1 skill, +115 life, fire resists etc from the four slots of armor, ammy, and two rings it's I think a good deal. Especially since you can wear it at such a low level.

Edit: fixed a few typos.

yep.

on an mf baba using a 150 dura 7% base life steal and like ~240 max dmg ancient axe that i pskulled (last ladder)

And on an more budget weapon, a 230 mart w/ 180 dura and mana steal

Both got to lvl ~88 just from trav//river of flame//flayer mfing in big games

The setup kills fast, doesnt die, and gives 200 mf w/ a ptarn

Well it's obvious any decent-barbarian with a high damage two-handed weapon can kill fast. I don't see the point to the sigons, I'm guessing it's all because of the life leech? The IAS from the gloves won't make a difference, the attack rating is pretty poor from just the boots.

I can't see how anyone on a 'budget' using a hunking two hander couldn't get ahold of some other decent gear. Even if this was the case, I'd much rather go with Sigon Helm, Sigon Gloves, Death Sash (Perhaps even a bladebuckle), Goblin toe. Which would assure extremely improved attack rating, the same life leech, crushing blow and whatever belt you are using's improvements.

since this is an mf barb, we want mf

sigons gloves, belt, and boots gives 50 mf, needed life steal, some resists, stats, life, and to be honest its a pretty standard setup for many mf barbs... i am suprised you do not know of it

Wait just a second, i dont consider this an "budget setup". Yes, it is much cheaper than godly rares, but its opinion based which is better (godly rare using baba will have huge gf, whereas this barb will only have at most 75% from tarn, or from its wepn if gf is even possible on weps)

old gull only had 50%mf with no lev req
since 1.08 or so they have 100%mf

the only weapon with goldfind is the uniq great sword (100%gf)

with all mf or goldfind builds you have a trade off of killing power/speed vs how much mf/gf you can use. if you only want ~150%mf or less the items you can pick from is very large. for a barb its best to have LL or ML on the weapon that way you free up more item spots for mf/gf items.
