What if you use mods?

Hi!

I usually play on b.net, but I play SP (rarely), but only mods (drop mods, Vikings etc. )... Is it possible to trade these items here?

Thx in advance

Excellent question, but I'd like to wait just a bit to answer.

The forum was just created, and we are preparing a "Trading Guide" & FAQ at this moment. Your question will certainly be covered there.

I don't have AE's self restraint... nor responsability... so I'll give you my answer. I'd have it so that you would be welcome to trade so long as you tell people what mods you use, and how you got your items each and every time you traded. What you do on your own time is up to you... just don't come here and lie about it. You seem to be quite open about the fact that you play a modified game... and that's great. Just expect that quite a few people here will refuse to trade with you. It's up to you and the people you trade with... and none of my buisiness what you do. Just keep it honest and open and no one will have a problem with you.

if you use a mod you should put a disclaimer at the top of your post saying what mods you use

@bradley_turner: I wil.. If you tell me how to!

@Shagsbeard: Hmm.. I cant see why people should refuse to play with me, because I use mods is single player. Single player and Battle.net is completely different, and I can assure you that I hate haxxors... I usually tell them to use that is SP! Trust me, I would never dream about hacking in b.net, but in Single Player, you make the rules, you decide to hack or not, and you decide to use mods.. or not. IMO single player is a place where I can try stuff, I cant use on B.net! Anyway, if you choose to play "standard" diablo SP, thats ok... I just like a little variety = I use mods...

I cant see why THAT should offend someone.. When I know how to put disclaimer on top of my profile, I'll do it, and people can decide if they want to trade with me or not! If the rules say I CANT trade modded items here, then I wont..

Thx for your opinion though!

@AlterEgo: Im in no hurry.. I'll read it when its done.. Just to know if you allow mod-trading here, you'll discover that there are 100's of mods... Might make this place a bit... you know.. hard-to-see-whats-what..!

Let me ends this by saying: I play mods to get variety, not to offend anyone or by any means break the rules. I dont use anything (MH, AA, mods etc.) on B.net!

[E D I T] Just read the rules.. No surprise really! Except for the rune thing: Why? I mean you can trade them on the realms trade forums, and no matter how many days you keep a HR, it may still be a dupe..

Anyway, this looks good! Looking forward to using these forums!

Personally i wouldn't like to see these kind of trades happen. Before we know what hit use we could be flushed with people coming here to trade their items coming from Drop mods, Mods, etc. Heck maybe they will even come here to trade their hacked items. Sure a big tag informing us of that will keep (most) of us away, but I definetly don't wanna see these kind of trades happen at all

How many people do we have coming to the SPF thinking its a Hack-All, Cheat-All place? How many of those will come here? Just something to think about.

If you're moding or using an item pack, what's the point of trading anyway? Just make the item you need.

Coming to a forum devoted to people who play almost exclusively Single Player and saying that SP is pretty much just a testing ground for Battle.NET isn't going to win you any friends...

A mod is a different version of the game. So its like playing diablo 2 where all the grass is pink. Thus, just like in the original diablo 2, it is very possible to create items. However, one doesnt, for the same reason one doesnt create items in the original diablo 2 (destroys the actual gameplay etc).

Now how would you feel if I hacked on Bnet to make tons of runes and TC87s, and told you I was just testing it to play my own SP game? You would find it weird, since you don't play much SP.

Now what if i started trading hax and dupz, and suddenly every person you play with deals twice as much damage as you do? See how I just might have ruined your fun?

In SP, we don't have Blizzard, we have ourselves as rule enforcers, and we do it better than Blizz, actually.

So try to understand how people from the SPF community feels about being called BNet test grounds. Similarly, we won't call BNetters 1337-5p34k 'tard kids on their forums, mainly because we are more polite, but also because we know it is a direct hit in their prides, and also a flame bait.

Main point is, do what you will on your machine, be honest to trade here, and get to know the SP community a lil better, to avoid hitting soft spots without even knowing it.
