A snag in my writing

I have been writing a Diablo-based fanfic diligently for a while now with very few snags (but no, you still can't read it yet -- if only for the reason that Part 1 of 3 sucks and must be rewritten); however, recently I have reached a plot point in which the forces of Hell have regained the Shadowfang. It's really just my setup for the Hellforge quest, but *shh* you didn't hear that. Anyway, my main characters have no idea what the Shadowfang is, so I am having Cain explain to them the story behind the Hellforge and the Azurewrath and Shadowfang and such. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of having him explain something that I know next to nothing about. A Google search has proved unsuccessful for what questions I have about the blade's origin, so I have decided to take my request here. I hope you'll indulge me.

1) From what material was the Shadowfang forged?
2) What are the blade's abilities according to lore?
3) Who physically forged the Shadowfang and Azurewrath?
4) Can the Shadowfang be destroyed?

I think I already know the answer to number three, so it's just for clarification. If this is on the wrong forum, please forgive me. Thank you for your time.

I think the first snag in your writing was probably basing it off the game plot line. Unfortunatly, that has been done so many times (and the game played so many times) that unless you are sensationally good (EG: An'yee) or can provide some sort of twist that would still make the story interesting (EG: The hero of your story, is in fact, a three month old child. Who is evil. An evil three month old child with a Spiked-Rattle-'O-Death! Dude, that'd be wicked sweet), it's probably gonna' fail. Of course, maybe your story just interjects with the DII plot here and there, which is certainly than writing a fictionalized version of the game.

Sorry to pour so much bad news on you, and by no means stop writing your story if you enjoy it; it's good practice if nothing else. Post it on fanfiction.net when you're done. As for Shadow Fang; i thought azure wrath was made my Tyreal, but i'm probably wrong. There's a DII Mythos thing around here somewhere, but it may have disapeared in the last forum burp.

I have no idea if these are ever mentioned, but if they are, I suggest getting to the hellforge part, then talking to all the characters about the Quest, more then once. Mmm, it may even be a good idea to find it, kill Hephasto, get the hammer, then talk to them again. If this doesn't yeild answers, I suggest making stuff up. Nothing wrong with fiction.

I searched through the TDL Condaminion(SP) trying to find anything on Shadow Fang; all I could pull up was one of the unused quests from Diablo I. Linky!

Much thanks to the both of you! Now I can start writing again...perhaps with a few more plot deviations. Maybe I'll post some of what I have later, after I rewrite what I must. Thanks again!

HAHAHAH. That's Compendium. The TDL Condaminion sounds like a sidekick made entirely out of pickle relish or prophylactics.

I'm sure i heard somewhere that it was actually shadowfang that izual was supposed to weild (sp?) but TDL seems to have alot more information than i can provide at the moment. Though i can see where the info i heard could've come from as it states "shadowfang consumes the soul of the user" well near enough states which would also explain how izual's spirit is kept within the demon that you kill. (Tyreal says that his soul is trapped/kept prisoner in the demon at the start of the quest, least i think its something along those lines)
hmm its been to long since i've listened o the NPC's methinks, maybe i'll be up listening to cains stories all night tonight to refresh my memory.

Huh? Oh yea, Shadow Fang. Listen, if you can't figure something out, just make it up. No one will bite if you get creative... Well, Snowglare will if you post a story without line breaks, and Anyee will send her monkey assassins after you if you submit something to TDL without line breaks AND it's in |-|@><0r 1337 $p34(h (if you didn't understand that, then you're on the right track), but other than that you won't have any worries.
