this has happened to me aswell -.- maybe rust storm deletes items that have been duped at one point. ie. you find a 6%wf but because 6% was a common dupe maybe they delete it :cheesy:

i duno is there any way to really tell if an item is a dupe?

peace.

Items do have a bit of information called a "fingerprint".

It is really a little remnant from the item generation process. A kind of "seed", but since it is usually unique for each item it is probably the best way to discern a dupe.

I guess the dupe detector works by finding items with identical fingerprints and then deleting them.

Too bad they don't show up in the item tally, they could have been really useful for a trader who does not want to be scammed (having a reference sheet of known duped fingerprints handy).
