Age old up'd eth armor question.

Alright, it was proven that there was a bug with upgrading eth armors, that they lose the eth defense bonus.
Now, has this bug been secretly taken care of?

I ask this, because i just recently talked with someone who took an eth guardian angel, up'd it, and it got 1900+ defense.

If the bug is active, there is no way a regular guardian angel hellforge plate could get that much def.

Anyone have equipment they can try it out with? or has accidently done it recently with bad results?

I'm curious if this bug is still around or not...

I believe knowledge of a fix would have been made public, but if such a GA was upgraded and had 1900+ defense, the bug must not have been present.

You do have a point zen. The maximum defense of an upgraded guardian angel (maximum 530 base with 200% enhanced defense) is only 1590. Hmmmmmm

Well ethereals get an extra 50% bonus to Defense and Damage

Yes they do... usually. The bug, which is the topic at hand, gets rid of that bonus, thereby creating an ethereal armour with non-ethereal stats. If the original posters correspondant was speaking the truth that would mean the bug has been eliminated, or was not present for the upgrade in question.

Nope, i did not see this 1900 def guardian angel, which is why i came here to see if anyone had heard/seen anything to this effect. If i can get a lem rune at some point, i have an eth guardian angel of my own i can upgrade just to see.

I have new evidence that the bug is still active.

I found a perfect eth vipermagi the other day, and gave to a buddy since i had no use other than to watch it break.

He of course had plans to upgrade it, and i said go for it.
It ended up with a defense of about 850.

I calculated it out myself, how much was possible on this vipermagi, and if the bug was indeed gone it should have gotten def ranging 1201-1551.

I'm still curious, and wanna upgrade my guardian angel anyway just to see myself.
