The easiest solution is to be active in the trading community on your realm. Eventually, you'll make friends, and friends tend to help
As KTang said, we have a channel on the Europe realm where people from the trade forum hang out, so there you can always ask for help, company, advice etc.
I'm not sure if there's anything similar on another realm, but I assume there must be. That is the best solution if you ask me.
But you must also keep in mind that the channel mentioned is an un-moderated channel, meaning that these forums have no "official" business there.
Should there be an official connection to the forums, there would be needs for moderation, which simply isn't possible. For example, keeping track of in-game accounts belonging to banned members here wouldn't work because of the simplicity to create accounts on bnet.
Also the fact that most people (mods included) can access the forums from work/school, but being logged in to a game at work isn't easy.
Also, what do you mean by chat? You mean like a javachat or something like that on the forums?
