    Magic resistance is a property just like any other resistance, and protects you against magical attacks. However a) there are not many magical attacks in pvm and b) the shield is the only thing that gives it, that's why it's pretty pointless.

    In the mod Median XL, you can stack magic resistance up to 95% if you want to, but even then no one really does it.

    In PvP, against Hammerdins, I could see 95% magic resistance being usefull?

    I'd sacrifise, like, EVERYTHING to get 95% magic resist vs bone spirit/spear necro or hammerdin -.-

    This would bring most dangerous 15k hammers down to 130 pvp damage.

    Also, it depends on the Mod itself, where is the MR% included or added, how is it incorperated?
    For all I know, it's a stat of some new runeword which also boosts other stats greatly?
    Or it's a new magic stat and can pop on anywhere along the lines of "all res" and "random res%"?

    There is magic resistance in D2. So the mod could just add an additional affix to the table, that potentionally could give, lets say gloves, 40% Fres aswell as 40% Mres...
