    Tips for starting hardcore.

    Hello,

Last night I defeated softcore normal Diablo and because that's all I wanted to do in softcore I deleted that char and tonight I'll start a character on hardcore.

So does any of the hardcore veterans have any tips for me before I start?

I'm on xbox. Don't know if it matters.

    Don't Die.

Try to keep main stat and vit about the same as you progress upward. When you get to inferno that ratio will change but that is a good rule of thumb.

Rubys in weapons and amythests in other sockets work well.

Do you plan to walk thru the entire game or get rushed and help from friends?

Other will have some good advice also.

Yeah I kinda figured out that it's best not to die.

I was planning to just walk through the game. Don't know anyone that plays D3 on xbox anyway.

There are many many good tips lists on the web regarding general hardcore play, so a quick google will yield you some good stuff.

If you want to know something class specific, we can help you out

Yeah just found a good thread on the battle.net forums.

Just a quick question though. What difficulty do you guys start at? I just tried Master V and I and Master V got me killed in the inn and Master I got me killed at that unique vomit spitting undead lady in the cemetary and I porbably wouldn't have gotten so far of the monk didn't have a ranged and a good knockback attack. So I figured I would just start on easy, apparrently normal and hard don't offer any benefits.

    Thanks for the help.

Start low difficulty, up it as you get confident with the game. No point in playing a difficulty where you have a high risk of death.

Yeah these guys have it right. I play on Xbox too and barely grazed over regular mode before going to Hardcore. Aside from Azmodan I haven't had much trouble getting to Act 3 Hell so far. But if D2 taught me anything it's that I'm going to die just when I get comfortable ;P
If you want a savvy buddy to play alongside then I'll be happy to =]

Dont know anything about console play but if you are starting out for the first time, the easiest difficulty is recommended. barbarian is the easiest class to play according to most. grinding a few extra levels before you kill an act boss has proven to be useful also.
as soon as you get comfortable you will raise the difficulty and die. happens to all of us.

Yeah, right now I'm just trying out each class up to the Skeleton King to find out which one or two I want to use.

@Homunculus I send you a PM with my GT.
