    Will this Pindle-run scheme work?

I am still new to the game. I just finished normal doing all the quests and following the story so to say.
But I did do pindle perhaps 10 times - and I am glad I did.

When I did the Nihlathak quest I lost my red portal. What a shame.

So now I am thinking - I want to me smarter about this in nightmare levels. I actually want to kill Baal, but even after that I would like to be able to go back to do more Pindle runs.

Can I do everything except Nihlathak and then a) Be able to end the game in nightmare (and then be able to play in Hell) and b) Not loose my ability to do fast Pindle runs?

I do think I can live without the quest reward (the personalization) - as I see it, I am not really loosing anything :-)

You don't lose portal if you kill Nihlathak. You lose it if you touch the waypoint in the halls of ??? on the way to him. Therefore you can finish all the quests and still run Pindle as much as you want, just don't activate the waypoint

Edit: And from my 1000+ Pindle runs experience in the last two months (in hell on p8) - He's great for leveling (be it in norman, NM or Hell), but very, very, very bad for MF or runes.

I can second that, about the Halls of Pain wp.

Its great for leveling, but also for mfing. He can drop almost all unique items in the game. The only better area to run would be any of the lvl 85areas. (This is only hell ofc)
But because hes so easy to kill, and so close to town, he cant be ignored.

I got several good items from him this ladder. Like Ber rune, Eth Crown of Thieves and a 39life Paladin Combat skiller.
I always run him, hes easy to kill with almost any character.

I myself am a great Pindle lover, so just ignore the wp in Halls of Pain and farm on Pindle as much as you can.
He can't drop only 3 unique items, which should be Tyraels armor, Azurewrath and Arachnid Mesh (not sure on last two, need confirmation). What character are you playing?
Blizzard sorceress is my favorite against him because of how slow and freeze increase your safety by a ton, and you still provide more than enough damage to wipe Pindle and his bunch

I believe you lose the Pindle portal if you both get the waypoint AND kill Nihlathak. One or the other alone won't do it.

I've never tried that, but I'd say it's possible.
Not that I don't enyoj Pindle running; I do; but I still have to live to see the day he drops me something at least half useful

I recall getting my Tal Rasha's Guardianship against Pindleskin, he is definitely worth killing. If you play sorceress though, try and get into a teleport pattern so you don't teleport upclose to him, their charge attack is really dangerous.

If you're a blizz sorc just freeze the front of the pack with glacial spike and then spam blizz/glacial as needed. Should make it safe enough for merc to kill CI pindle, too
