    MF runs on Meph

This is the first time I'm really "active" since the start of a ladder. I used to come in quite late so I was able to buy my items with Pgems or low stuff. This time, I want to find (most of) my own stuff, so I'm doing mainly Meph runs with my sorc. Back in the old days, I mean when I was still young , I was doing the whole Meph chamber, risk of dying at Bremm and also spending lot of precious time.
Now I'm doing only Meph and the chest behind him (dropped me an Ohm once). But I TP to town before Meph to get a "Topazed" armor on...
My question is if it is worth while to change that armor or not.
    Stats and equipment:
    *tele to Meph:
    Mine :
    Wizspike
    Lore warhat
    Skin of Viper (+24 MF)
Spike Thorn shield (extra HR while tele)
    Change Guard (+32MF)
    Rare Ring (+5 MF)
    Rare boots (+ 16 MF)
    Charms (+ 21MF)

Ali Baba on switch :+88 MF
Rhyme on switch : +25 MF
    Total of 211 MF

    Merc : 54 MF

So if Merc kills : 265 MF

    * switch the armor :
    my MF : 211 - 24 + 96 = 283 MF
    If Merc kills : 258 + 54 = 337 MF

I try to let my Merc do the kill

    Cheers

It's probably easier to keep the armor in your inventory

If you want a more concrete answer you need to do a few dozen or hundred runs and compare average timing of not going to town and going to town, and compare that to the effective boost in MF (ie after diminishing returns).

I always prefer speed over mf. If u got at least 200 mf, youll be fine!

Agreed but I only have 2*4 + cube places left and I like to sell the rares for gold to gamble
But I'll try the Archone way and don't switch the armor, as far as I know he's quite successfull

Swapping equipment for mf,(loosing res/skills) is standard for the first 200-250 mf. And is also the most important mf. The higher you go, the less effective is every % of mf.

May i add to always run AT (ancient tunnels, a2 lost city) in your runs... it slow you down but it has the highest TC level monsters in the game (together with a lot of other area's) and on top of it it has no cold immune monsters in it.... (i am not sure about bosses in monster packs but i am reasonably sure) besides that it has dropped me a lot of runes in the past!

There are 4 different mobs to be found in AT. And only the Mummies and Horror mages get cold immune if the boss rolls "Cold enchanted" I do think that the other 2 can become Cold immune but only if they roll cold enchanted and magic resist.

    Correct.

The main reason to run the AT is the lack of coldimmunes.
The packs there arent hard at all, and I cleaned it with my Spirit/Rhyme/Stealth sorc early in the ladder, without any problems at all.

I usually do AT/Meph/Pindleskin, rarely coldimmune and takes about 2:45-3:30! (Depends on how good the show on Tv is! )

I would say if u do only Meph the swap is worth it if u complete it under 3min that way. As far as I know u get the realm downs with more then 20 games created in a hour (I Already experienced that 3 times this ladder).

Btw any trick to find AT fast?

If I found durance lvl 3 quickly, running meph only took about 1min. Getting there is what takes time, so if you kill him fast, make a run for AT.
