I realised I had forgotten to post this important bit here.
    I'm sure Bob approves.

It is. It's short, witty and intelligent. Well most of Terry Pratchett's stuff is witty and intelligent fortunately.
I enjoy reading it out loud which I did to a friend of mine who doesn't read. He liked it too.

Feeling particularly rotten at the moment, I wonder why people want to bother with immortality. I rather they came up with a cure or some sort of medicin that would make my condition more bearable - I'm not the only one suffering from unexplainable but real physical pain in abdomen, stomach, and digestive issues without anything showing up in medical tests.

The research should focus on making our mortal lives more liveable. We suffer enough as it is without being immortal.

    Re: Human immortality

Your immortal lobster peeked my curiosity.

Appearantly there are "biological immortal" beings in our world (which can divide cells indefinetally without shortening their telomeres!)

Real life examples include: Hydra and Planarian Flatworms.

There are other forms of immortality:
    - "Turritopsis nutricula", a type of jellyfish which transforms it's cells into others rather than renewing cells.
    - "Tardigrades", the infamous water bears, which are virtually indestructable.

Currently, researches are still in progress of finding out why the telomeres don't shorten in those animals (which would allow for unlimited cell division in humans), what keeps lobsters "young" even at old age (which would be nice to rejuvenate old people and prevent the rest of us from getting wrinkly) and personally, I'd love the see them add the invulnerability of the Water Bear while they're at it

That wikipedia link says lobsters get more fertile (read: randy) as they get older. That's just what we need.

What's the point of lobsters being immortal and delicious?

I'm not witty or intelligent. I'm actually not short either. It's not working.

    Funny pic though.

You're certainly the first two, and third is at least the way I imagine you.
