Always about blood with you. Better to make it... er... mojo powered.

Because nothing generates mojo like a hawtchik with short shorts wearing a CVC. "No smoking allowed in the cockpit"? RAWR!

This looks a lot more cost effective Idea than walking machines.
Star was Showed how to take those down.

Warrior Web Prototype Takes Its First Steps

    May 22, 2013
A Soldier carries a 61-pound load while walking in a prototype DARPA Warrior Web system during an independent evaluation by the U.S. Army. Warrior Web seeks to create a soft, lightweight under-suit that would help reduce injuries and fatigue common for Soldiers, who often carry 100-pound loads for extended periods over rough terrain. DARPA envisions Warrior Web augmenting the work of Soldiers’ own muscles to significantly boost endurance, carrying capacity and overall warfighter effectiveness–all while using no more than 100W of power.

So The UN has taken up this now

I know most of you know of the Terminator series but do you know of Berserker series?

Same thing just a lot more likely given the path we are taking and the technology involved...

Re: The Ethics of Warfare, Pt XXII

I haven't read the original Beserker novels but the beserker idea, and references to that series, pop up in several novels by other writers.

I'm not too concerned yet by planet-sized Von Neumann devices - frankly they would solve more problems than the cause for me - but I stand by my earlier assertion that killing machines need to have the kill orders generated by human beings, not via internalised logic systems.

The first 3-D printer which is capable of creating other 3-D printers from raw materials it can source autonomously ... well, that might be a indication that it is time for some of you to head for the hills.

R/C is fine, Merv, but do not under any circumstances install any autonomous/AI control unit with lethal capabilities ... or I'll have to castigate you deleteriously
