No one was forcing you to do baal runs let alone focring you to play with people who did that.

No, thats not all they did. But atleast actual builds existed. If you want proof of how wrong that statement is just look at the difference between D2 theory crafting/build discussion compared to D3s on this forums. D3 barely exists simply because there are no real builds.

This game is much smaller then D2 in terms of EVERYTHING. Of course they want more. Apparently you think that game devs can't add a ton of new content just because they don't pay monthly fee. How does that even make sense? Did WoW warp your brain?

I look at a TON of games out there where the devs add new feature/content. Its stupid to defend such a notion with comment like that. Hell, even Path of Exile adds new content constantly and its a free to play game.
Must we do this dance again?

*sighs* I don't even care. Non ARPGs have more ARPG features than actual ARPGs.

Re: Is it me or is the game dead?

Sorry for taking so long to reply to my thread. Kush#1975 here. I rock a some what decent legacy nats set. I forget my dps now, look it up. I know I can face roll mp3 without follower, can run mp 4-5 with follower and hang in high mp with a good group. So, no I don't have the godly gear setup.

I am just saying that there are basic problems they have not really fixed and really don't intend too. Bigger maps, random dungeons. Some things that are in the works, are items. But, ever heard the saying "dollar short an day late"?

Keep in mind, I am avid diablo fan. Loved d2.

I see patch after patch....and its like the game is just going nowhere. People have screamed monster density now since day one, well not really. But it has been a top basic problem that developers neglected for some time.

I look at exp potential, item update, and map layout work and I just say ... nah.

I look at past and see some development problems. In dev diarys. This post is getting to long. But, in the diaries the three meat heads in charge reveal that there was a point in time where they had to reveal "what the have". And in my humble opinion, what they had should have had external input since day one, not 2010.

One can only hope we see an item fix, better, an bigger random maps in next patch. Thanks for replys, only read page one, about to peruse page 2. gg.

PVP was toast when damage output was tenfold ehp...

So insta kills an one shots in pvp were inevitable. Without a matching system, and a large player base...pvp will never be.

The problem is mainly DPS divides the player base. Its a huge issue. It has ruined PVP and spread players out very thin in Monster Power lvls. ANyone playing MP9 has already ruined the game for himself eitehr from playing or credit carding.

D3 had its issue for not being a true sequel to D2. And players left over are very much divided in DPS range.

you either never played d2 or botted it post release.

I had plenty of fun exploring random dungeons, vast maps, and did lots of different types of runs. Not just baal runs. Back when a boss kills drops were comensurate with its difficulty. Fast forward to Immediately stop using slang references to homosexuals in a pejorative way. Only warning. 3 and a stupid e pack is both harder, and has better drops then a boss. I mean...dude can I say 3 people who took charge int he games development needed a piano to drop on them back in 07 or 08.

People rant about nothing to do in D3. At least we have to search for elite monsters with different affixes instead of waiting for a TP to Baal 24/7.
People rant about no stat point allocation, but all they did in D2 was using guides.
People rant about no new content being implemented. Apparently they think this is an MMO and would like to pay a monthly fee.

But most of all, people will rant about how the game is too hard for them because they see 5 people on twitch.tv who can faceroll mp10. As long as someone is better than them, they will feel like it's the game's fault.

I have like 10 different people to play with, hell on our mumble server we had 3 full groups running one day. Hardcore has never felt so alive.

I don't understand this DPS-divide argument I keep seeing popping up. How is this any different than in D2, or any other RPG for that matter? If the range of achievable DPS wasn't wide, with players distributed throughout, where would the sense of character progression come from? And why should someone who's put in a fraction of the effort I have in a character be rewarded with similar DPS and therefore, similar efficiency when farming? I've never paid a real penny for any digital item or currency, which I agree ruins the game from my point of view. But to suggest that because I (or anyone for that matter) plays at a high MP level because we've put a lot of effort in the grind to get there, has ruined the game for themselves or anyone else is silly.

In short: High DPS, ability to play at top-end MP levels efficiently, etc. IS the reward for putting time into the game (and hopefully you snag some nice items along the way). What would ruin the game is if everyone was able to walk into MP10 with high-end DPS, without putting in the effort to get there.

D2 DPs range is pretty balanced. If you don't understand that, then i can't really help you. To me its clear as day.

Also, stop talking about DPs or efficeny farming. Thats not the point.

DPS range should be alot smaller simply for the sake of balance. Simply put, show me where in D2 players had a gap of 30,000 to 400,000 dps. Thats pretty retarded no matter how you flip it. It ruins the game in more ways then you think.

Re: Is it me or is the game dead?

Top of the line Hammu or Light Sorc in D2 did about 25k-29k iirc. It was easy to make a char with half of that, and you could melt pvm with it just fine. So yeah, the gap was much smaller. It didn't hurt the game none - people still paid the equivalent of 10,000 High Runes for the godliest rare items. Whether you get 100 points more of stat X or 1 point, it's still more than the next fella.

Edit: Someone mentioned Low Level Duels on the almost-dead Pvp forum of this site. At lvl 30 or below (and banning high-lvl gems ofc), the dps to hp ratio is much more sensible. Ofc it might be that some classes dominate, as the skills weren't designed with this idea in mind. But hey, they're already unbalanced (I hear that Monks = gods in current D3 pvp), so what the hell. Someone should start a thread on a non-dead subforum so people could come up with viable builds. Haven't checked the official forums but I doubt those cretins have thought of this... It's all about teh deepee-ess for the average Dtard.

Don't mind him -- he just banging that same drum that he's been banging intermittently for months now -- "waaah public games aren't fun" and "waaah I want balanced pvp" -- everything else be damned. There is no real "DPS-divide argument" any more than there are people who play Starcraft and complain that it's not turn-based.
