Thing is, Rush/Beck/Coulter are touted as being the unreasonable ones, yet THEY didn't burn rubber to blame American citizens who don't think Gov't is acting in their best interests with wildly confiscatory tax policy and subsequent wasteful management. The "mainstream" did that. 24/7.

Uh, no, that kinda misses the point entirely. Let me put it in a different light for you. A guy in your neighborhood (we'll call him Joe) is well known for running around slashing everybody's tires and breaking windshields. He does it every chance he gets. Another neighbor (Bob), mostly sits in his lawn chair yelling at people on the sidewalk. Sometimes he leaves a dead fish in someone's car, but that's about it.

One day you walk outside to go to work and see you have a flat tire.

You immediately march over to Bob's house and accuse him of slashing your tire because it's Tuesday. You also avoid any implication whatsoever that Joe might have been involved.

Do you see the problem here? It's not really a question of who's worse. It's a matter of who gets put where on the suspect list.

(Also, just FYI, CNN tried to blame right wing extremists as well. They are hardly the unbiased one of the three.)

We killed one and caught one but will we ever really know all the who, how and why?

I'm not at all surprised the facial recognition software doesn't work. Pattern recognition in and of itself is pretty tough, as I recall from one old college paper.
Surveillance companies threaten to sue Slate reporter if he writes about new face recognition tech at the Statue of Liberty. So he writes about it anyway and calls them out.

What I hate is the government version is inherently Raciest and I had to pay for it to be tested at the Fricking Statue of Liberty!

Oh, that's absolutely priceless. Yet some numbnuts here wonder why I occasionally sound like a hypocritical anarchist? I'VE WORKED AROUND GOV'T NEARLY MY WHOLE LIFE!! Hey, how about that "Free" healthcare? SQUIRREL!

Speaking of SQUIRREL!! - Benghazi. The modus operandi sounds far more like what I expect from Gov't than competence or diligence. See, the diligent people are far outnumbered by those along for the almost-free Socialist-employment ride, and we eventually have our pride, work ethic, and even honesty worn down by the machine (flakier than what you or I write but still interesting).

And back to Boston. Or, as AceofSpades puts it, "Breaking: American Press to Find New and Inventive Ways to Ignore Major National Security Story"

    • Saudis developed intelligence separately from Russia, which also warned the U.S. about the accused Boston bomber
    • A letter to the Department of Homeland Security allegedly named Tsarnaev and three Pakistanis as potential jihadis worthy of U.S. investigation
    • Red flags from Saudi Arabia to have included Tsarnaev's name and information about a planned explosive attack on a major U.S. city
    • Saudi foreign minister, national security chief both met with Obama in the oval office in early 2013
Yup, the Obama administration, keeping you safe since 2009 through drone attacks and threatening whistle-blowers.

Ruh-roh, Shaggy! Looks like that "Lone wolf" media narrative might be in difficulty.

Breaking: Boston PD: 3 more arrested in Boston Marathon bombing

    EDIT -

Nothing to see here. Anyone could have missed it.

P.S. Nice Beemer. Wonder if that was from food stamps as well?

You missed the sticker on the back

The students, named by neighbours by their first names Azmat and Diaz, drive a black BMW 330XI with the personalised plate and a sticker on the back which reads: ‘F*** you, you f****** f****’.

Murat Kadyrbayev, father Dias Kadyrbayev, said last week that his son and Tazhayakov own a BMW that garnered attention in the investigation. The car had a decorative license plate reading "Terrorista #1." The plate was a joke from friends in Spain, Murat Kadyrbayev told the Kazakh news website Tengri News and STV channel in an interview, Tengrinews.kz reported. via CNN

Wasn't in the initial reporting I'd seen. No suppressed anger issues there, to be sure.

Joking about being "Terrorist #1"? Really? Now I tend to wonder who the friends in Spain are.

A very interesting editorial from AceofSpades on the three co-conspirators; worth the read.

Or would you assume it was for cosmetic purposes, or masturbation?

Why would you think that Vasline was evidence against him in a bombing?

Now, can Vaseline be used in making bombs?

Well wonder of wonders, Vaseline is in fact a common ingredient in homemade bombs!

I didn't know that. Did you know that? Maybe I've heard that once or twice on like 24 or something, but the use of Vaseline in home explosives (mix five parts Vaseline to one part explosive powder!) was not in my Active Knowledge Base.

    Was it part of yours?

You know whose Active Knowledge Base apparently did contain this lethal bit of trivia?

The three people arrested today, who seemed to immediately recognize the explosive combination of gunpowder + Vaseline.
