I don't doubt your ability to understand what unreasoning hatred entails, the why of it and why it shouldn't exist.
What you are unequipped for is comprehending a reasoned hatred and bitterness for an individual. You'll argue of course that what I describe is an oxymoron, that reason precludes hatred, and vice versa. I am here to tell you that you cannot viscerally understand my hatred for the woman, which is based upon myriad reasons. Reasons, not differences in philosophy or opinion.

"It's a black thing; you wouldn't understand."? Poppycock. Not only am I not immune to legitimate claims, but I certainly don't assert a grasp of European domestic affairs. I believe my Goldstein accusation to be the most accurate.
I'm really close to getting drawn further in, here. My perverse streak though, tells me to deny you your goal.

If you think this is goofery, you're quite a bit less perceptive than you believe yourself to be. I'm honestly shocked and somewhat disgusted, because I simply can't manage to sympathize with your emotions. I'm a violent sort of dude, as you and others have asserted, but I've never carried the sort of encumbrance you apparently do. I'd not act this way about Osama and didn't about Chavez; a sense of relief and hope was about all I had.
Imagine if Madonna moved in with you, started ordering around the way things happened in your household, destroyed everything you like about your neighbourhood, sold off all of the things you previously owned a share in to a bunch of her music industry buddies and then imported jackbooted "temporary police" to enforce her will upon you when you complained. And then, she tells you every day for the next ten years that you have never had it so good. And then she tells you to "rejoice". How would you feel?

No good leader makes everyone happy, because sacrifices have to be made - and those sacrificed often carry a grudge, simply because they lose the upper hand.
True. But a good leader isn't the issue here.

The sort of vehemence you display is similar to that of the American Left when their teachers' unions lose their monopoly. I don't doubt that some of them will dance and rejoice like Palestinians on 9/11, but it's really about their losing the ability of fecking over their fellow citizens. Which is what I'm uncomfortably suspicious of regarding your glee.
There is glee, plus a sense of relief, a little bit of closure thrown in but there's also a degree of sadness that it took so long to happen.

I imagine that at the heart of your consternation is bit of puzzlement. You clearly had no idea of the depth my feelings towards Thatch and probably have never seen this side of my personality. You won't see anything similar from me, on any other issue. In respect of any politician, criminal or historical boogeyman you care to name.
There has to be a part of you that's scratching his head over this. Why does Thatch deserve my special vitriol? I like to think that, for a split second, you may consider not my inexplicable behaviour, but that something real triggered a strong and lasting reaction.

Just like with you and Madonna.

Well, you DID get my point. Your verbal violence is SPIRITUALLY no different, just as lust I feel for Halle Berry is SPIRITUALLY no different from my bending her over my desk and giving her a hard rogering. Neither is beneficial to a human spirit.
My beliefs do not require your belief. And hands off Halle, she is most assuredly mine.

    You misspelled Obama.

Of course, the difference here would be Thatcher provably led her country out of the gutter while Obama is provably driving ours into it.

Yet you are completely unable to frame such supposed reasons in a reasonable frame. Ergo, irrational. You just can't admit it.

Sure, Julia. Just keep telling yourself that.

I was going to fence a bit more with you, but I'm really, truly disappointed and a little disgusted. I'll kind of answer what Glurin refers to with Obama and then quit.

Oh, I'd hate her. Thing is, Thatcher did nothing of the sort, and I'd STILL not be behaving as you are even if she had.

I'll be overjoyed when Obama no longer has any power, but I MOST EXPLICITLY do not wish his death - I pray for his beliefs to be discredited and his name to live in infamy for ruining the world economy with his Marxism.

I go out of my way to upbraid people who even whisper about Obama dying; I'm better than the Leftist filth who wished the same on Bush (besides, the last thing the Left should have out of this is some sort of freakish martyr).

I want Obama to live a long, LONG life to become a never-ending humiliation that will stain his party and beliefs with the deepest stench of failure, misery, and horror. Like Jimmy Carter to the nth power.

Oh, unless what you liked about your neighborhood was misery, everyone being on the dole, and their trying their best to feck others over - which I understand is coming back in vogue in your nation. Surprisingly, old "Milky Loads" actually found himself nominally back across the aisle on the subject (the link is not to Sullivan, but to someone who deserves the traffic more). So hey, don't worry, all that damage you imagined remembered her causing is quickly being repaired!

I don't mean to derail, but Glurin, this was pretty funny. Well done sir.

Anyway, I'm American, and born in the early 80's so I didn't really get the full picture of her save for a little spattering of history and some youtube fun. She seemed pretty sharp and clever, and was very effective. Not sure what has loz's panties in a bunch, but it must've been something serious because you never see him get all riled up.

now if I can only believe Jmerv doesn't want his political enemies dead. Let's see, he claims to come in peace, but when we get him riled up he fantasizes about torturing his enemies with hot pokers. Sounds like radical islamists. It's the Jmerv spring!

    anyway, back to your rantings!

Call me crazy, but I think people should be respectful of the dead.

I dunno. the dead are dead so they don't care, but i think saying terrible things about a person right after they've passed is pretty mean to the mourners. Here though, any political figure is going to have their haters. I guess it's not as shocking because I kind of expect someone to say something.

Lady Thatcherís death could propel The Wizard Of Oz track "Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead to the top of the charts.
Those who saw her death as a cause for celebration have prompted a download surge for the track.
Within 24 hours of the former Prime Ministerís death, the song had risen to number 9 in the iTunes best-sellers chart. It reached number 2 on the Amazon singles download chart.

I'm not all that familiar with it either really, but the basics are pretty easy to look up. UK was in the crapper, she pulled them out of it and the typical union types hate her for it. Well, not so much the fact that she improved things as the fact that she didn't do it while pretending socialism was the greatest invention since the wheel.

They're playing a lot of sound bites of her, naturally, and there's one I heard that I really liked because it kinda sums up everything. (I believe it's actually in that video jmerv posted.) "He would rather the poor were poorer provided the rich were less rich."
