    RIP Iron Lady

Yes, the great woman who was the last living partner in the triumph over the greatest evil of the 20th Century has passed (the other two generally recognized were Reagan and Pope John Paul).

The end of an era, despite Loz and others extensively hating on her, not the least of which was the hatchet-job movie with Streep.

I posted it earlier, but here's a great clip:

I am quite cut up about this, truly. I feel a great loss.

I had my heart set on being the one to press a pillow over her face whilst she was still conscious but now that chance is gone forever.

Far thee well, you ****ing hag. Please let there be an afterlife and - please, let it truly suck.

    Re: RIP Iron Lady

She was a damn good leader, and helped to turn Britian from a country in decline to one which is looking up.

She certainly did not get everything right, and IMO she had clearly gone off the rails by the end of her prime minster-ship, but I think Britian would be a worse place now without her.

    RIP.

Gee, Loz, and here I imagined you weren't like all the others. I suppose you appreciate this then....

Yep saw that in another forum. To which I replied:

And the weird thing is, they are both right.

I once asked why you cherished such extreme hatred for her, and you never really gave an answer. I presumed it had largely to do with this:
I have to admit, though, that seeing you far less hinged than I am normally accused of 'round these parts, with regard to someone so obviously <good> in both deed and legacy, is a significant disappointment. Makes you seem substantially worse than this lot.

    Re: RIP Iron Lady

The trollery is weak in this one.

Reading someone's blinkered and most likely biased commentary (I haven't bothered to, btw) vs recalling my own personal experiences living under her "reign" ... hmm, I remain unimpressed. I actually felt supportive of her and her stated goals, initially ... I suppose your strongest critics include those who originally had faith in you. Damned betrayer, she was.

I suspect I did describe some of my gripes with Thatch previously, back when we were waiting for her to die. I imagine your suggestion that I hadn't really answered you is a device to get me fired up over it all over again. Whereas, I have no further need to vent - the vile harridan being stone dead and all.
I will leave with this thought. One thing I object to is someone pissing in my pocket and telling me its raining. Ponder that on the Tree of Woe, Merv.

You see trolls where none exist. That is the path to the dark side.

Not at all - and given the amount of spleen you've vented on this thread (which would certainly have been ban-worthy for me on the GW OTF and was remarked upon when some here danced on the grave of Jerry Falwell) it's not like I needed "a device to get you fired up over it". You pretty much took your own nose-dive to the bottom with almost no assistance from yours truly.

I mentioned you hated her, and you were off & running. I really have no clue as to why.

Lost me, my dear. Am <I> the pocket pisser in question? I suspect not, but being angry about such things from gov't notables? Y'all dismiss my outrageous outrage yet certainly would seem to be far beyond my petty grumbles about overt betrayal of country.

EDIT - P.S. - odd to see that Naz has a far higher opinion of her than you do, when I always get the impression he's substantially far to your left.

EDIT2 - One significant moron out of so many: I'll tell you, you worthless socialist buffoon - - SHE HELPED INVENT SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM!

I said I see trollery. I concluded quite some time ago that you partake of the green-skin without being one yourself

LOL. You've never seen my spleen. Nor will you ... I play nice here in DiabloLand

Hmm ... Merv without a clue ... what could this mean?

    Lost me, my dear.
That happens when I forget to dumb-down.

No, not you Merv. I've never seen you piss in a pocket, not here anyway. Splash it around in all directions, but never in a pocket.

I doubt I could explain to you why the smugness and the sheer effrontery of the Thatch was a difference not in mere degree but in kind compared to other political figures. It was situational and affected me in real, quality-of-life ways at the time. I certainly have no wish to dredge up old stories ... I just want to rejoice.

EDIT - P.S. - odd to see that Naz has a far higher opinion of her than you do, when I always get the impression he's substantially far to your left.
I was actually quite right-wing up until the early days of Thatcherism. She cured me of that, or so I thought at the time. Obviously now, after decades in which to ponder, I am less caught up in left- or right-wingedness issues. We don't seem to get much of either in the UK, merely a vague flailing of hands in one direction or the other. It's fine.

EDIT2 - One significant moron out of so many: I'll tell you, you worthless socialist buffoon - - SHE HELPED INVENT SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM!
Uh, I'll follow the links if I get time or accidentally click on them.

Dancing on someone's grave isn't exactly 'playing nice'. Seeing how you're not aware of that.

Speaking in vague references and hidden meanings, sneering at others when they fail to catch your quadruple-entendres... you're plagiarizing my old posts!

Rejoicing over the woman's death because you didn't like her style? Really? I don't like Ricky Gervais, and despise Bill Maher, but it's not like I'd do happy dances for their demise.

Meh, it's more about Donna Brazile, erstwhile head of the DNC being a douchey feminatzi. She's barely got two brain cells to rub together, and she asks what Thatcher ever did. Even for a dyed-in-the-wool Commie hack like Brazile, who would discount all the other issues, THATCHER HELPED INVENT SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM!
